The only reason why I am saying more wear is because it seems that there is a lot of sliding going on at turn 1 and the last section from all cars. Although judging by todays practice there was a lot less sliding than on either of the Friday practice sessionsso the track seems to be getting better.

Do this track suits a "Cool" like drive ( Button ) or Agressive driving ( Alonso , Hamilton ,..) ?
The task is,not so much to see what no one has yet seenbut to think what nobody has yet thought, about that which everybody sees. Erwin Schrödinger

Question IS can Sebastian go faster ?
Judjing by the live timing the last lap should have been quicker but he backed off/made a mistake in the second sector. Otherwise I belive this will be a straight up fight between ham and vet, then webbo/but 3 or 4 if they manage to get their tyres up to temp, maldo looks good for a fight with alo in 5th. Also vettel got his tyres working 1 or 2 laps quicker than hamilton, so we'll see how it all pans out.

My initial thoughts that made me ask the question is similar to yours.

The reason that I asked though, is due to me wondering just how much damage you actually do while sliding the tyres on a track that is so lacking in abrasive surface.

I think LH will be driving he a off this weekend and he will be out there to proof that he is a much better driver than button. Plus I think LH is trying to make a name for himself in the USA. Will be exciting race to watch for sure.

What do you mean goes out and bang? He, Hamilton and Webber went out at the same time, with about 9 minutes to go.
Both Hamilton and Vettel did their time at the last moment after quite a fair share of warm-up laps.
Not really, Vettel's lap was way earlier, Hamilton's was after the checkered flag, Hamilton's engineer had time to inform him of Vettel's lap time even.

Vettel did it 3 laps earlier at least, his car just heats up the tires much better/earlier.
Right now it doesn't look like much of a fight honestly, it's a fight in which one guy has a machine gun and the other has a rock...

And btw, Pirelli F... you.

1- Vettel
2- Hamilton
3- Maldonado
4- Alonso

The ability to control a slippery car is crucial right now.

Why? Or why this week more than any other?
Grip is a four letter word. All opinions are my own and not those of current or previous employers.

Was the incident with the marussia caused by Perez or Kobayashi?

I thought I read that the softer tires have a SMALLER working windows than the harder tires
So given how it has been already hard to turn on the tires it could have been carnage with softs/supersofts

Or have I read misleading info? Seems like Pirelli made the right decision...

Maybe its a bit smaller but thats not the problem. The main problem is overhearing because they reach operational temp much quicker and are because of that prone to overheat on abrasive types of tarmac when pushed to the max. The asphalt in cota is very smooth and slippery, so just the opposite. Pirelli themselves said they made the wrong choice for this track and that we're definetly going to see softer compounds next year.

Lack of balls, Hembrey excuse to their tire choices just shows this.

The softer tires of the range might have a smaller operation window, but they certainly heat up faster.
