That's extremely dependant on the sensor. Not all sensors are created equal, even among the high end.

Really? I may as well stop shooting in raw then since I'm not gaining anything according to you.
You can push further (in camera) with less consequence with film than with a digital camera. The advantage of instant results and error correction goes to the DSLR though, can't exactly see your shot immediately on a film camera. Plus, there are very diverse and interesting film processes to get an effect that can't be matched by any digital camera in existence (unless of course you use software to recreate the effect, which isn't the same). Tin type for one. Those plates are rather large, though.

According to DxOMark, only D800, D800E, D600 and K5 can shoot more than 14 stops.

radomer, here are some new pictures, you might as well take those too as you already took 99% of them and re-uploaded them onto your account with the same description details or lack of them. You can at least make a page description to give credit to the people who deserve it, as I did. You can copy-paste that too.

F1 history on deviantART.

About the page that I created on deviantART:
I am a big fan of the old times, and I wanted to gather pictures from the old times in F1 to enjoy them and have them all in one place where I can access them from anywhere I am. I do some research for every picture that I find and and upload there to try to deliver information as accurate as possible about the driver, track, place, team, car model or engine that appear in the picture.

You made this page on devianart? Great job. I took many of them. Now you can see i found others as well. Where did you find them really?
Secondly, i will give credits. I wrote in the settings of some photos the copyright owner but when i upload them on fb, everything dissapears. If you download the photos from my fb page... the titles , description etc are gone :( Do you know any other good source (links?). I found some russians sites where i took about 600 photos. If you want we can exchange our files. In my hard disk they are so well aranged. I can send you my files in a .rar and you can do the same.

.
And something I forgot to mention:
I took some photos from you the first days. But then i used google. Maybe we have the same sources. YOu can see that the resolution of some pics of mine are bigger. I re-found some photos of your site in other sites in better dimensions ;) YOu can have a look and upload from here as well. We should give credits to the photographers if we know the names.

Formula 1 history in pictures (1950 - 1999)

Post

I always liked and had a passion for old school F1 - the cars, the drivers, the atmosphere and the racing that took place back in the days, so I had a decent collection of pictures of those years.
About a year ago I decided to upload the pictures I had in my PC somewhere online in order to still be able to quickly access all of them and to free up some space on my HDD. I went a little bit further and I ended up with about 6000+ photos uploaded, close to 18.000 views (~100/day) and a lot of people enjoying the gallery.
The views started to rise in the last period (don't know why, because I didn't promote the page anywhere, the viewers were people who just stumbled upon it) so I thought of letting you guys know about it too.

The page can be found here (it's a gallery on DeviantART): http://f1-history.deviantart.com/gallery - you have the main gallery as you access the link and separate folders on the left for each decade starting the '50s through to the '90's

And here is a little preview of what you can expect to see:

Have fun.

I expect the number of page views will continue to rise. You have done a great service to the F1 cognoscenti. Excellent work! =D>

I have cross posted the link to a site I help administer. I'm pretty sure the people there will be greatly interested in these photos. :D

Priceless images all of them stefan, though James Hunt sitting in a 312T2 and Ronnie in an unthinkable fur stands out.

But again, just look at Gilles in his 312T4 with his feet next to disaster.
