It's hard to understand that although the name (Driver World Champion) it's not about the driver, but a full combination. Team+Luck+Car+Manager(to get you into the right car).
Had Alonso won, people would be saying "Vettel lost because the team pitted him twice in a row, and the second time didn't had the tires prepared". It's not about the last race (the one easier to remember) it's a full 20-race championship.
Alonso drove brilliantly, which is highlighted by the cars better race pace than qualifying pace. Vettel was handed a better care and delivered. So who's best? Everyone can think what they want, but according to the FIA this year Vettel was the best driver. Next year will be a different one and I'm already waiting for it
