Lotus E21 Renault

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

I wait to see the car on the track.
I feel it is not complete.

I can not believe that Lotus uses the front wing and rear wing they used last year.

Moreover, what about double DRS?
surprising not to see instaled on this car.

Like last year, this car seems to be "some kind of Frankenstein."

I'm looking forward to be on February 5th!

Nope, I've complained a million times. It gets even worse when you look at the overalls :wtf:

I really liked the trend of the first year as Lotus, where every sponsor was written in gold letters even if their colors where different originally. No discounts for anyone, the idea was (as it should have been) gold and black. The 2013 livery is an abomination by these standards.

I quite like the car though, the studio images.

You do realise that cars are almostt always launched with old wings?

not necessarily.

last year, Ferrari had a new front wing for the launch.
it was not used in the Melbourne GP ...
but a new wing anyway.

A new wing that was never used might as well be an old wing or something the YTS lad threw together... The point is they're not going to give the other teams a month's head start on copying anything new they thought of, which is probably why it seems like a bit of a frankenstein car, a combination of obvious refinements and incongruous bits that are standing in for the real improvements.

I wish they would dump John-Player-Special-tobacco-retro paintwork, it makes the car look like darth vaders helmet!
