Lotus E21 Renault

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

OK, reflections...
It's visible, that vertical alu fence was moved to the main car axis from initial position. They had to cut part to move it in the ramp area.
@Blackout, as almost always you post interesting photos!

That's what the RB9s will look like if you could see deeper. Theirs is more aggressive.

Let's not forget, though - the RB8 B-spec wanted tokeep it a slit too. Newey has been trying to shrink the tunnel constantly since he managed to get it working in Valencia.

It's me, or there is a laser sensor near the front wheel, under the brake duct, like the one placed under the nose ? (red dot on the tarmac)

Yeah it'll be a ride height laser as well I expect, possibly measuring tyre deformation?

Nothing new there. The sensor housing is placed under the nose. Image

Looks like there were three sensors. Left, right and the center one. I believe aside from the tire deformations, they are experimenting with ride height, too. The E20 was bottoming out more often than other cars on grid last year.

DRD monkey seat and closed 'ear' inlets and without pipe to RW? Does it make any sense?
Is it picture from race simulation? If yes, then could we assume, they loose some DF to hide performance?

On this picture with DRD it seems like there is more rake than on the side photo.
