i think they have put it in selected areas to get a better understanding of the flow only in that area, beats slapping it allover and looking at the flow i think they'll get a more accurate view from this.

I was referring the rw one. Messy is the flow! See the picture with the rear view

The STR8's nose (though beautiful in my eyes) does have a concave underside that is more pronounced compared to the other noses in the field. Will this create a detrimental pressure gradient?

Would an underside "bulge" ala Lotus and Red Bull be of help to improve aero?
