Lotus E21 Renault

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Guys, relax! Neno's post is ok, it's not 'RBR post' but as a comparison with E21 in mind and it's interesting IMHO.
According to 'refined RBR' exhaust... We must remember, which iteration of RBR exhaust we compare with Lotus one...

Yeah, that was very confusing because those aren't slots and they definatelly don't act like diffusor.
It's been a long time since we drove last time, but it has also been a short time at the same time

I agree.

Their purpose could be to regulate airflow coming in that is disturbed by driver's helmet, or to regulate air spillage coming out of the airbox at high speeds

Even more details, it's Kistler RoaDyn V6F1. This team (Renalut F1) used it as far back as in 2006

they seem to be testing different downforce levels. The second wing has a bit of a larger flap, they ran that wing in Hungary iic.

The vanes under/behind the suspension look different too, with a shape I havent seen before in any other teams, but its very hard to see them clearly on other photos, with their black bodywork. They angle inward at the bottom if my eyes dont deceive me.

Enstone cars sport almost the same under-nose vanes since 2010.
