Also, the expansion of the exhaust flow means less energy. I believe the transverse flow of around the sidepods of the Mclaren keeps the Exhaust flow more focused.

As everything is taking the shape of Infinity logo, I think those Pit-stops mechanics should wear
a helmet with the infinity shape on the back. Don't you think?

External airflow management. Scarbs already wrote about it. Last year's RB8 also hat that slot under the nose.
