Ferrari F138

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

If someone said to me that you can have three wishes, my first would have been to get into racing, my second to be in Formula 1, my third to drive for Ferrari.

Sounds like the exhaust is doing what they want it to do. The most encouraging thing for me about the Ferrari this year is how everything they're bringing is working (apparently).

It's because they're stalling the sidepods - like giant Thermos air dams - to reduce drag at high speed, and they've got to be able to evacuate the accumulated airflow quickly off-throttle so the engine and/or sidepods won't burst into flames. (Or so that's what I've been told by the harrowing voice within my head that makes a mockery of any attempts at inner tranquility. No, you stop it!)

By the way, is no one going to excitedly point out the new shallower rear wing and complementary end plates?

Different top chord/DRS flap, one with large dips & another with rather small ones.

Look at the centre of the beam wing. Looks like they have a hole going straight through the beam wing.

Maybe that's why they dropped the monkey seat. Depending on the shape of that hole, maybe that is serving the same purpose as the monkey seat, keeping the rear wing flow attached.

Also, different RW endplates, one with 5 slots (I believe new one) and the original one with 6 slots

What on earth can they be covering with the towels? May they be just fast cooling that area of bodywork when in pits?
