too much fanboys here to talk something rational.

and by the way about qualifying ... there's another team mistake! they should pit both cars and put new inters and if you want to go on Lewis was closer to Vettel in qualifying because at the time when Lewis set his time he was last car on track (he or Vettel can't remember exactly) and on a wet track last guy have chance to be on pole because with every lap condition get better.

But they saved an extra set of inters for the race which could easily have payed off.

i think bottom line here there is a lot of potential in this team and car. if they can get rid of that rust ross talked about and keep improving the car like they have so far then its looking like a decent season

You say that, but many times I've seen posts from you that are just very negative about anything Mercedes related, why is that?

Mclaren is making a comeback. Mercedes need to develop this car really quick before Mclaren sort things out.
Ferrari i believe is just as quick if not quicker, i'm not going to get comfortable and say this car is really that good.
The competition hasn't been out of hibernation as yet.
Come China i feel mercedes will be back to fourth best, and when Mclaren sort things out, fifth.
The car does seem to have some weaknesses still, and as for the team i'm not sure if they have their race strategy down pat.
Melbourne we saw miscalculation with tyres, malaysia with fuel and in fact the pace of the race.

They've dealt nicely with reliability though and i must commend them on that, but i just have a feeling the wash over silver is gonna strip off pretty soon when things get really sticky mid season. Not to mention when the constructors battle gets a little clearer.
For Sure!!

@ringo

McLaren are coming from very far back, the reason they can and probably will finish ahead of Mercedes is more to do with their concept and how much more potential it has than Mercedes.
The found nearly a whole second in relation to the cars ahead of them in less than a week.

Mercedes are still performing fantastically well, this is there best start to a season yet. There are more reasons to be optimistic for them given that they have gone through changes at every level of the organisation. China up next, and Mercedes usually go well here, leading in the W02, and winning with the W03. They will be racy there for sure.

We will see, but you are underestimating Mercedes here.

I don't think we can say Mclaren has definitely improved yet, this time last year Ferrari had won the Malaysian Grand Prix and they were at least a few races away from being a strong team. Even if they do catch Mercedes in terms of pace over a weekend they still need to iron out pit stop errors. Top 4 in the constructors is looking realistic but I must admit I wish the races were closer together so Mercedes can make the most of the car they currently have.

But they did in a sense, Brawn stated on the BBC that it was discussed at a pre-race meeting that the driver that was in front after the last pit stop would run to the flag.

Things looking good indeed.
I was quite surprised (and happy) with their pace on the race, and I am sure RB were shocked too with the competitiveness of the car. If they introduce good developments in China and Barcelona they could win races.

Some more on the fuel situation. Both cars were under-fueled in wrongful anticipation of rainy weather, however Nico had saved more fuel since he was shadowing Hamilton all race.
