you don't need to attach them to the engine, the cooling is bodywork related. look at some f1 cars and you'll see the big hole at the back or gills near the cockpit

i don't get how the appendix being the wrong way effects you?

best thing to do is download the appendix and then use a pdf reader like Foxit so you can rotate and zoom in. the last few pages of the appendix are very helpful

Ok I didn't know it was bodywork related.
I know there is a big hole there but I thought it was there for engine cooling.

yes mate, so you can make a hole there for your cooling. some teams also use this

see the red arrows.

so in total the holes need to be greater or equal to the regs.

you could make one big hole at the back. or make it slightly smaller and add the above. its up to you. pm me if you need help

Thanks a lot astracrazy and of course everyone else commenting on my car.
I'm a noob but as I'm 14 I just want to learn and maybe one day get into f1.

Hi Nick, i was thinking about the gearbox, if there is any chance you could release a new gearbox? a little bit shorter around the base? Im not sure if teams are using the starter hole much in the KVRCC season but i am and the gearbox is huge i have shrunk wrapped my body work so much around there and it still seems to be huge. If you cant its no problem.

Thanks Dan

Hi Dan, to my regret this is not possible this season as all cars have been designed with this gearbox in mind, to change at this stage would mean that some teams will gain, others will loose, however for the 2014 challenge, all parts will be redesigned

I asked about relaxing the rules on the pre-supplied parts on the previous page.
The gearbox and crash structure being two things I would love to not have to use

Nick: does the car have to have all the cameras and tv pod on?

Doubt it, I just added it for authenticity when I do a full render

ok mate

do we know if any more races will be added?
+
on the KVRC website on the standings page. Its got wins and fastest laps, surely the winner will be the fastest lap?

I think its a good thing to have to work with the supplied parts; real-life design is all about compromise; even in F1 the smaller teams use gearboxes that I'm sure they'd have preferred to be slightly different in some way, but they have to buy someone else's gearbox and work around it...

Think of it as training for real life!

I was just thinking, because the gearbox we have is very large near the bottom, most gearbox are quite small, the Ferrari gearbox for example, nice and small at the bottom. Image

Even the Xtrac gearbox is small at the bottom. Image
