No, I think it's in the race as well. In Bahrain, Räikkönen only started posting reasonable lap times once he got onto the hard tyres.
The Autosport article says they used supersoft and soft in Australia, but I think raymondu999 is correct and they had the mediums there. Still, that just means Lotus doesn't quite understand that tyre, because clearly they had it working ok there but were unable to translate that to other tracks unlike the soft and the hard tyres.
