The driver (no pun intended) of success in this scenario is the guy who the 10 chefs all answer to, and who has to take responsibility for the overall theme of the menu and the harmony between dishes. There is no problem with having 10 master cooks if you have 1 master chef.
Whether MGP do, and who that might be (Brawn? Toto Wolffcastle? Niki?) is still obviously open for debate.
Arguably RBR have a similar pool of talent, they just brand it "Adrian Newey and his team" and avoid all this BS.
there is big difference here:Newey is the undebated guru in the sense of Byrne,Barnard,Murray in their heyday. So no internal elbow fighting for supremacy.
Newey in my view has no managing obligations he is completely out of this equation and concentrates only on :defining wishlists for new equipment to utilise the next unfair advantage and conceptualising the next challenger ...which is detailed enough to let the horde of detail designers come up with thes wonderful machines.
I´m sure Newey is not managing anything he is the source of inspiration the free agent the thinker in all this .Marshall and co are the ones who do the managing and orchestrating .
To see MGP introducing IR cameras to complement the IR sensors in Monaco is just another hint at how desperate and unstructured they are.
There was talks and assurements made to fully get on top of the tyre issue about three years ago ...and now they found a
IR camera as a brilliant ways to analyse their issues? That´s just pathetic.
I don´t think it´s a bad idea at all but why wait for 3 years ,if you are that deep in a mudhole?
I still stand to my word from years ago when the testing ban was instated : Your car has to double up as a testrig this is an inevitable fact as simulations do not correlate to the precision needed to guarantee successful development in this environment .so Friday testing is a vital part to your performance in the season .In consequence your Aero measuring,Tyre analysis must be a design constraint from word go and implemented in your design as a (removable) feature of the machine
itis just laughable to look at those contraptions we are now witnessing all bound to correlate in an environment of unsteadiness ...I wonder how much filtering and guessing is needed to derive any useable information from what is done these days...Looking at the succes of their hard trying to get on top of issues it just speaks for itself if or if not they should reconsider how things are validated.
