Is the sport really that boring, you could have stories about Buttons gear box or Di resta's good chances and problems as well or Alonso and Hamilton doing well and how close this race may be between the top four teams, but no testgate testgate TESTGATE!!!, talk about that when the tribunal happens nothing more will happen at this weekend the media should focus on the race.
Yeah, I called it a soap opera back in page 8.
The matter is on ice until the tribunal they should shelf it and go on with the show for now. Do not bring it up unless there is a new development in it.
For now talk about the race. It's not like the drivers will magically divulge secret knowledge about testgate.

That's because everyone believes that Merc flat out cheated, which is a very big story. Personally , I'm not sure one way or the other, but I doubt the FIA said anything to allow Merc to run a 2013 car without the other teams doing the same. I think if the FIA allowed anything, it was probably meant to be one big group test.

I'm with you, Fleche d'Argent. This is as ridiculous as listening to the incessant nattering of the media about US politics, BOR...ing. #-o Tell me what happened when it's over. All this speculation and bloviating is tedious in the extreme.

BUT......If the race is run in dry conditions and Mercedes is able to maintain good race pace and not fall slowly backwards as the race goes on, that will be the proof we all are hoping for that they actually got some significant advantage from the test.

Monaco was one thing, as the track itself confers a huge advantage on whoever is leading. But Montreal is fairly wide open with good passing opportunities. If Mercedes does not suffer severe tire degradation on longer runs this weekend, then we will know......

I don't agree. The surface is as smooth, if not smoother, than Monaco. It's not very heavy in terms of tyre degradation - but rather wear. I think Merc's wear is as good as any other car's - just that their degradation is worse. So with the low-degradation circuit character of Montreal (but high wear) - similar to Monaco - I expect Merc to be able to maintain their tyres equally as well as Monaco, relative to the opposition.

Note though, their degradation probably wasn't that great even at Monaco – they simply set a very slow pace where they knew it wouldn't be a problem, and knew everyone behind them couldn't get past.

1. Hamilton
2. Alonso
3. Rosberg

1. Hamilton (do or die basically)
2. Alonso
3. Vettel

Rosberg should be up there because he´s in brilliant form right now but it´s hard to count out Vettel on the opening laps.

I did not mean to imply that Canada was a high deg track. Merely that it will not permit the leader to keep the rest of the field bottled up behind for the entire race while circulating at 5+ seconds a lap slower than during qualifying laps.

As is traditional, I've placed a silly £10 bet at long odds; Massa on pole ;)

Sutil let me down at Monaco :D

Hamilton will do well to hold the podium assuming he qualifies pole (just IMO)

Mercs stint were basically a second down per lap in FP2, DRS means that is just too slow
