I thought it was common to have 3 week gap when they change continents? Not always, but often.

Canada - UK gap has been two weeks for the last three years, but anyway, that gives the teams proper amount of time to come prepared. In fact, I was sort of surprised by the multitude of updates brought in Canada.

Hi

First posting so not sure this is the correct place for this (be gentle if not :D )

Just found some interesting data on the FIA website re race day speed trap readings at the first 7 GP and wonder of the implications for Silverstone (Can't wait: Village A). Basically in the first 2 races RB were midfield in terms of "speed" but for last 5 races Vettel has not been better than 19th "quickest". In Canada 1st/2nd was Hulk/Gutierrez and 20th/21st Webber/Vettel !!!!!

http://www.fia.com/sport/championships/ ... ampionship (follow link to each race and look under timing information for details)

There seems to be a pattern in the data across the races of McLaren and Sauber moving up the "speed trap" rankings without any "success", whilst RB seem to be going in the opposite direction! That is a relative loss of "speed" whilst gaining relative "performance".

Thoughts?

:D

There will be two DRS zones. On Hangar straight and common DRS zone.

I thought it was one zone on the Wellington straight.

That's what he meant. One on hangar straight, and the "common DRS zone" is Wellington straight. 2 zones this year.

Well actually we had Valencia in between these 2 for the last 3 years :) But i believe the gap between each of them was always 2 weeks. I think getting rid of Valencia and the supposed European race that was meant to take place in July not materialising is what has led to these odd gaps in the first half of the season. We have lots of back to back races in the 2nd half of the season instead.

As for the pecking order in this race, like everyone else has said, Ferrari should be strong. However, i do fear the rain. Hopefully we get a heat wave in that week.

As I've gone on record multiple times saying - I miss races where we see no slicks at all - ie a 100% wet race. I hate wet-dry or dry-wet races.

That's correct, thanks, I went on f1.com to check the dates, but missed the "Europe" in between them, while in hurry, sorry Valencia, it wasn't intentional :)

Without a 10 grid place penalty, I foresee a crushing Romain Goujon victory :D

+1, but nowadays its almost imposible to see this if the rain isnt very light, if not, Charlie decides that it is too dangerous to race. :wtf:

Stupid isn't it? Remember Fuji 2008? Massive amount of rain and we let them race and it was fantastic. The problem is they just drive around behind a safety car like pansies so they are going slowly and dont shift any water. I can't remember how much water the tyres can shift but isnt it something ridiculous like 100 litres of water a minute at a certain speed?

Ok don't quote me 100% on this as the weather there can be rather unpredictable, apparently we might have a dry weekend. If it rains Wednesday and Thursday then signs point to a mostly dry weekend. If not it will be intermittent and might get in the way of Saturday running, and it might rain sometime during the race. So yeah wet Wed and Thur of that week = mostly dry weekend.

I'd prefer a long break with no races to enduring Valencia!
