Mercedes AMG F1 W04

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

So i can't see any changes in your marked area.
You are seeing a little slot on the lower wing just because upper wing is a little tilted upward. Look at the bulk under the nose on the upper FW, that shows it's tilted a bit. The only difference IMO is on the uppermost flaps.

Actually if we believe autosport, both drivers are uncomfortable and unsatisfied with the upgrades. Supposedly it has something to do with instability in the entry at the fast corners, Nico said that maybe the diffuser doesn't work correctly. All in all, he stated that he believes Mercedes made a step backwards at Silverstone...

Ok not what the article says

Lewis is unhappy with his setup (nothing about upgrades)

and Nico said they probably took a step backwards in high speed corner entry which was where the car was worst to begin with everything else including quali pace is looking great according to him

That's a strange article because long stints looked alright during fp2 I thought
Hopefully those comments mean there is even more to come

Yeah, he said the car has pace, it just is unsettled in high speed turn-in.

The car being unsettled at high speed turn in is a flaw Mercedes have had since the banning of the DDD.
Rosberg may be spot on in his assessment this cars diffuser is the problem.
Looking at earlier pictures of the cars diffuser, it also seems apparent that it remains largely untouched from testing spec.

Easy to say focus on the diffuser. Maybe it works wonderfully, but something ahead maybe distorting the picture.

Yes, those are only put on when the team is expecting hot weather.
