Where on earth did Hamilton find half a second on his team mate from? They've been neck and neck all season, and now this? o.O

While we're at it, my prediction for the race is not merc going backwards, and here's why:
1) They're the only two drivers with all of their brand new sets of hard gyres in tact.
2) The race is cold, Merc have shown their car works well in the cold before already.
3) The hard tyres are the ones Merc have shown that they're best at hitting the temperature window with, especially in the cold.
4) The car has genuinely, visually improved over the last few races
5) Hamilton is half a second clear even of his team mate, 7 tenths clear of Vettel. He can afford to do a certain amount of coasting to look after his tyres and not have any issues with Vettel gobbling him up.

Not just over Nico. Mercedes was only very slightly in front of Red Bull. Vettel publicly stated his amazement. Hamilton just was in a different league then everybody else.

Which means he is going to the back of the grid.

What a shame for him – on the plus side, it means he can now take a 100% race set up and start from the pits.

FI drivers are doing a pretty good job this season. It is a pity that somehow the team itself ruins the weekends for the drivers.

This time its Paul' fault only.

That doesn't make any sense, did he take a crap after he got out of the car? Did he have a brick in his pocket when he was measured beforehand?

I find it hard to believe that his weight is so far out that it affects the weight of the car, surely the teams don't leave such a low margin of error when setting up the car?

Something doesn't add up, both figuratively and literally. My guess is a weight either wasn't put on the car, or it came of somehow.

God damn it. And I was so glad to see him up there in Q3 and in a good position.

In my view the team produced a fantastic car and the FI drivers are making mistakes. This time it's a team's fault, but I have seen enough stupid moves/crashes this year. The difference between a good and a top driver I guess.

You're joking! It didn't last long for DiResta, 1,5 kg? How is that even possible :o . I don't believe it was a driver.

Lotus as always delivers in comic relief section:
Romain Grosjean: “Whilst were very quick on the hard tyres at the beginning of qualifying, we weren’t as competitive on the mediums, I don’t know if it’s the weather or something else, but we weren’t as good on them as in free practice this morning meaning we didn’t have enough to qualify further up the grid. [...] I’m quite satisfied with my performance today.”
Alan Permane: I’m reasonably happy with both cars making it into the top ten but, of course, we would have liked a bit more from today. Romain didn’t have a perfect last lap and suffered from understeer in Turn 15 whilst there didn’t seem to be much more pace in Kimi’s car.
Permane is perfect Raikkonen excuses generating machine with usual hint of doubt (didn't seem). It's not the first one mistery slower lap by chosen driver, defining laws of physics, faster car but not faster. The only conclusion: lesser updates must be better than the big one. They slam their "device" on one car for obvious reasons and I bet they can't even say if it's working, I mean "perfect" lap unlike his team-mate, except for not being quick. Where is their new technical director to explain everything, not trained in marketing enough?

Alonso: “Pirelli is choosing medium and hard continuously for every race, which we know only help two teams,
I've been saying that long time ago, mediums in every race, paired preferably with hards, RB's tyres of choice. What happened to their concerns about pushing 100%? Alonso is keeping it real and telling how it is.

Absolute bonker lap by Lewis.
Miss the Rosberg fans saying Hamilton never was quick and it was all a mirage.

-
Frankly i thought Rosberg had this but either way, you can´t start of a Race weekend anymore perfect that what Merc have done.

Funny how the two dominant cars (the best cars in the field by a mile) will struggle in the race due to Pirelli´s.

Funny how they're designed to run races, and hence are not dominant if they're struggling.
