That'd be brutal for Merc to take front row and then drop into the shark pool. Hope for Hamilton's sake that does not happen. I don't know of a driver who hates going backward more than that guy. Merc update pace is truly amazing. Car looks fantastic.

Webber probably was on stint 2 fuel, but not Vettel, as it makes no sense to not check options degradation with stint 1 fuel. RedBull is for sure not going to start the race on prime tires.

Except if you're doing side by side comparisons between the two cars and testing against a known program. Red Bull's modus operandi has been to test with stint 2 fuel, Merc tends to brim the tank. They'll all do various runs with various loads but their long run simulations have tended to follow that trend.
