Ferrari F138

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

It's nice to see change to a part that has major impact on car performance. Lets hope it works they way they intend, unlike some of the recent changes.

What parts are you talking about specifically?

I'm waiting for a lot of images of new diffuser [-o<
Sorry but it's the same exaust on the same car, only just fitted, and then completely assembled :)

This change in the diffuser could also mean they indeed had problems in Silverstone and nurbirgring; could be normal development tough

The cascades? They remind me of going back to the 2010 McLaren versions which we haven't see since.

The footplate and the central double decker are the most interesting details in my opinion. tha fotplate is almost not existent, with a laeding edge to get the exhaust meeting the floor radius rule; the central channel is very big compared to the previous (waiting for better perspective to understand how they made it fit in the starting motor hole rule)

No... you cannot use the same exaust for short cfg and long cfg, they had to change the shape of the exaust cause is longer so it need a different resonance chamber. And again is the same "old" Barcelona config i swear.
Try to think, they put a tunneling on the floor, the same they tested in YDT with short exaust... so... the will use short exaust. No dreaming about ToroRosso or Sauber exaust solution. :D
This was the long one: Image
I cannot find a better pic, but i hope you'll understand the difference.
But they really surprise me with a new diffuser... so strange the Ferrari's diffuser use to be so simple maybe the simpler in F1 and now a Lotus/Merc style diffuser ... maybe Allison... but he can't

I dare to say that the front wing on picture above is not fully assembled yet compared to one where car is in action.

The two upper elements are not attached yet but the cascade looks new with the Williams style edges.
