Well brawn said it did in fact evolve by quite some margin, so everyone went a lot quicker on their final run. 4/10 is not unthinkable imo.

OOP tomorrow surely, so another advantage for Vettel.
Grosjean saved a set of super softs by only running medium in Q1, so not a complete advantage on that front. That being said, only a gearbox failure looks to be standing between the start and 2 hours later Vettel's victory.
Grosejan ran 1 set of SS in q2, and did 2 runs on them in q3 right? So he does not have a fresh set, unlike Vettel who only ran 1 set in q2 and q3.

Vettel was the first guy to complete a lap in Q3 he didn't even have reference times.
The track did evolve, not .5, but at least .2 .

Anyway Vettel has the pole, a fresh option and is a runaway favorite for tomorrow, not too bad after the "mistake".

Now some said Vettel receives all the latest updates only for himself ... you should see his pole lap in contrast with Webber's in order to see how confident was when he attacked those 13, 14, 15 turns and the wobbles on Webber drive well described in Karun commentary on Sky ...

Regarding Rosberg, he is more confortable on SS than Lewis based on Monaco qualy results.
Another thing is the fact that Brawn said on interview that there are some different setups between them, with a speculated understeery car for Rosberg and a more oversteery car for Lewis, bearing in mind Nico's problems in FP2 with a lost front end and overheating rear tyre problems reported by him ...

Unfortunately for Vettel he will land after the first stop after the group on primes : Gutierez, Hulky and Kimi and not to be a fortune teller but I have a vision which told me that Kimi is his fellow Nemesis ... and not to mention another problem for Vettel: his old 5 race gearbox ...

So my money is on Rosberg this time ...

I doubt it.
Had you said Mark Webber I might have agreed.
But Kimi. Nope. Kimi is not known for stupid moves.
Edit: Hulky and Gutierrez on 10 Laps old tyres will be easy prey to the Bull on fresh tyres (even primes).
In order to get Kimi they might go for OOP.

What we saw today points towards a rather gearbox friendly race for Vettel tomorrow. I see him short shifting (and being in a position to do so) after the first 10-15 Laps.

Autosport reported he didn't used the SS in Q1. Confirmed by f1fanatic, but also mentions red bull didn't use the SS in Q1 as well.

I dunno how they allocates their tyres. Both used their first set in q2; vettel probably switched to a fresh set for his only run, but grosjean probably used his scrubbed ones for his first q3 run.

The f1 timing app tells all the tyres. Grosjean used 1 new SS in Q2, and 2 new SS in Q3. Vettel used 1 new SS in Q2, 1 new SS in Q3. Vettel is the only one with 1 new SS

Glad I missed qualifying... Bummed I took Vettel out of my fantasy team a while ago.

Hopefully we get some good racing tomorrow, praying for rain!

I knew the gap would be closer in Quali between Merc and RBR. Very solid job done by Rosberg and Vettel (who probably had some tenths laying around in case they needed him to go out again)
Another disappointing qualifying by Hamilton...looked absolutely brilliant sometimes but not when it counted this time, quite unlike Hamilton i have to say.
But i guess that´s the story of his life, so much talent yet it never really materializes in F1 like we see with guys like Vettel, Alonso etc.

Gutierrez, i think people just might have taken some notes today... keep doing that and you´ll have a good future in F1.

Relax, dude. Everyone has an off-day. Vettel had some off days as well this season in qualifying, so did Alonso.

Besides, Rosberg is also pretty handy around this track and he's been more comfortable than Lewis in the supersoft tyres this season.
