Looks like Webber gets new gearbox anyway - don't retire him then. Lotus is a joke in case someone missed it, now they're going to wax about superb comeback podium  , full marketing delusion mode on. Vettel sounds like annoying brat he probably is  , wait for: we had to work very hard for this win, it was so tense...

Not taking anything away from Vettel but why all the sh*t "has" to happen at Webber?...Its just frustrating the amount of luck he has. From P2 onwards a fun race to watch.

Yeah, it is eyebrow-raising, to say the least.

Strange why every bad thing happens to him only! No wonder he wanted to quit but it was a late call, he should've gone to another team. Petty because he is fast.

What happened to Webber after he went in the escape zone? Last time I saw him his car was on fire and then my TV station that broadcasts F1 decided to switch from the race to a crap football game.

Great race for Raikkonen - from 13th to 3rd. I wonder what would have happened if it wasn't for the bad back that affected his qualifying. I presume he will have a pretty dreadful time after the painkillers' effect go away.
Another great start from Alonso. He just flew past by the guys in front of him.

It somewhat made sense to keep Hamilton out in the SC period (in the hopes that he might keep track position to the end) since he was already around 6th-7th, but probably he would've ended up like the McLarens did.

On the other hand, Merc. screwed Nico royally by not taking him in under SC. He could've done what Alonso did and not stop again, worst case scenario he would've been overtaken by Alonso and finish 3rd ahead of Raikkonen. Merc. shot themselves in the foot there.

I think it's fascinating that Webber suffers so many problems with his car. It's one of those things that makes you wonder if the team applies the same level of scrutiny to his car as they do to Vettel's.

It's just that webber's mechanics are the B rated ones. That's explains it really.

I think it is that and the fact the car doesn't like to be behind any car. It's on its limit just driving in free air. The car is made to get pole drive in free air and that's it.

absolutely, merc should have pitted one or both cars. besides its a street circuit very difficult to overtake, with laps wasted on safety cars, not to mention overtaking the likes of sauber, mclaren, raikkonen before chasing alonso and he had a very healthy lap times anyway
stupid decision by merc trying to cover mark webber ; they should have been concerned more about safety car right after ricciardo crashed.

they could not do this to raikonenen and get away so they preferred to hire riccardo..or webber wud have given a call to raikonen to let him the know reality within team.
