Just heard from the Sky broadcast that the typhoon have diverted it´s course so much that we might see some rain on Sunday morning and that it will be very windy but apart from that it should be a dry race.
This might all change though.

Saw both Merc cars stop in the pits, get the brake discs cooled then went out again. No front wing adjustment, no tire change just stopped for 5 seconds and went out again.

Why are they doing this? Finding gaps in traffic?

Kimis Feed back is legendary. I'm responding to the video above.

Hey could Mercedez me planning to do multiple stops not going for 2-3 stops but maybe 3-4 shooting for that qualifying speed and just going for an all out attack strategy quickly coming in to change tyres as soon as the times drop'? Maybe aiming at setting the fastest times consistently. With both cars always on fast tires never worrying about tire life? I think the quality of Both Merc drivers is good enough to do that.

I think the delta is far too high for that many stops.

I remembering thinking the same thing earlier in the year and they disappointed me and tried to stretch out the first stints. I remember thinking WTF? they're losing time. I think they were just trying to have a long first stint so they were sure the last set didn't run out of grip. But really doesn't the track surface rubber in a lot at the end of the race compared to beginning and your tyres can last longer. And the fuel load effect. I would push hard in the beginning get the first stint out of the way and worry about tyre preserving at the end. I could be wrong but does anyone else think these teams are so big they overlook these small details.

Problem is when you do that you can't be sure the last stint will make the distance.

Tyre deg is the least of people's concerns this weekend. It will be OOP and OPP strategies in the race

Interesting to see that Hamilton left the 4 tenths in the first sector with the Supersofts, he can qualify for pole IMO he has more than 7 tenths in hand (if RB is not sandbaging already in P3). Ferrari in Massa's hand looks to be loose he is turning oversteering ,understeering on the Medium compound, Alonso loves understeer (I guess) his car setup is too understeery and their is really no oversteer correction in S2-S3.

I predict a tough weekend for Lotus just because they don't have good qualy pace and are slowest in the speed traps which can be frustrating; as seen in last years race were Massa blitz passed Kimi effortlessly.

Edit- Looks like now Alonso went for more stiffer setup and the car is oversteering in qualy.

Did anybody really think Vettel wasn't going to get pole?

Brawn said on Sky that they have had some imbalance problems this morning and went back to FP2 setup and this qualy went not so smoothly but nevertheless is confident for a better race pace ...
IMHO it's the 3rd time they have a mixt setup, after Spa and Monza, bearing in mind that tomorrow could be a wet race ...
Maybe the 3rd time is the luck one?

Yeah, either that or Grosjean tries to get to corner first and goes all 2012 on Vettel

I was not expecting Gutierrez to make Q3.

Or Perez to beat Button because of how Jenson had the Korea Update and Perez has the same car ran in the Singapore GP.

The Force Indias loosing speed and not into Q3 while both Saubers go up. I like this GP so far also Mercedez no quali speed.... maybe even a worse race pace. Wow could Hulk get a podium. With all this im looking at him to shine. Vettel to win it.

So the front row means no quali speed and a good friday even worse race pace? Where exactly are you drawing your statements from?
