If what you said is true (which I doubt) that chap would potentially be able to seek damages from the helmet manufacturer, because what you are suggesting is that the helmet was the cause of his injuries.

Hi all, just to politely remind everyone to mind their language - this is not the place for pub fights or off-topic.

There's no news on Michael. His manager did not foresee official press-conference before Tuesday, unless something critical
happens.
https://twitter.com/bgarloff/status/420170469883772928 Part of the 'media' problem was the constant asking-for-news approach. This is not against anyone's hunger for information, but perhaps we need to be more respectful and quiet. In the end, we cannot help much, apart from not relaying false and misleading reports.

Some posts were removed again.
May I ask again to stick to the topic due to its sensitivity and try not to spread anything that is not 100% correct.

Latest: Taken from Jennie Gow's FB.

Latest official Schumacher statement:

The clinical state of Michael Schumacher is considered as stable and is constantly monitored by the medical treatments that are administered to him. However, the medical team responsible underlines that they will not stop to consider Michael¹s condition as critical.

The privacy of the patient demands that we are not going into details of his treatment, and this is why we do not plan any press conferences, nor give out written press releases, anymore for the time being.

We again insistently ask you to respect the medical secret and to stick to the information given by the medical team in charge of the patient or his management, as this is the only valid information.

RTL has put news online that Ms Kehm has told Felix Görner (RTL F1 host)that Schumi is now considered no more in life threatening condition - considering who is quoted this seems to be a reliable information.

Strange. RTL is usually a reliable source, but again, anything that hasn't come out of Sabine, I will take with grain of salt. I just emailed her, so let's see.

Meanwhile, Benson seem to think otherwise:

I rather think the family are getting pissed off with the press at the hospital. Corinna Schumacher has asked the media to leave.

I don't blame the family it must be very traumatic to have a family member stricken and the spectre of the press hanging around too.

There's not going to be any news until the doctors are able to reduce his induced coma to check responses etc but that could be days, weeks or months.

The press could do everyone a favour and clear off.

I believe that with this kind of injury it is very difficult even for the best people in the field to be certain of the persons condition.
It is good to see that there has been no deterioration in his condition.
However he is still in a coma and until he is brought out of it I cannot see how anyone can state a major improvement.

A famous hungarian neurosurgeon Andras Csokay said in tv-interview today :

The fact that Schumacher is in stable condition, means that his vital functions like blood pressure, heart rate..etc are stable and controllable, but on the other hand, there are no improvements either on the injury itself. He says that considering that it's 8th day since the accident, the pressure inside his skull must have stabilized, but that means too, that there are no other treatments/methods left in doctor's hands, and now they can only wait for the body to do the remaining job. Also he said, that they must try to bring out Schumacher from the induced coma after 2-3 weeks from now, because later the effects of induced coma could cause some other unwanted problems.

He also offered his help after the incident :

He invented a new procedure for treating these kind of brain injuries. The method is quite radical, but can save lives in these situations. It includes removing a large part of the skull. It's a known method, but the trick is how to do it to not damage anything.

Please do not misinterpret this gentlemen, but doesn't the saying "The postman always calls twice" ring a bell here?

I think people waiver the right to privacy when they live from selling their image. Not that I don't think some journos a bunch of vultures and hienas, but there is no point complaining after the hundreds of millions Euro on publicity deals.

You'll have to explain the right way of interpreting that.
