Red Bull RB10 Renault

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Yes it seems to be lower than before and connected to crask structure

A bit more brightness, so we can see more details.

Who said gurney flaps on the diffusers weren't allowed anymore? They have it all over the place.

Surprisingly good-looking or not-so-ugly-looking nose. In general the design philosophy doesn't to have changed all that much compared to last year with as much airflow going under the bulkhead and low around the sidepods to the diffusor. The coke bottle down low is narrow indeed with high, widened cooling outlets.

Back the pictures.

Seems Newey wants all hot air he can get from engine and cooling near the diffusor.

definetely it's a really tight rear end.
I would see a rear-low image to better appreciate where the cooling air exits

are you able to appreciate where hot air exactly exits?

That is the cover for the drive shaft that also functions as the lower suspension member. The rear wing is not attached to that. The rear wing is attached to the top of the diffuser.

The diffuser exits at the sides with no real defining edges. Very few strakes in the actual diffuser as well.

Right before the new "beamwing". Looks like it's all centralized with the outlet itself as low as possibe.

That's not a beam wing, it's an aero neutral drive shaft cover/suspension member. They have had one for a few years now.

Does the red bull have the tightest coke bottle area of the teams so far? Its hard to tell with images of each car from different angles.

Aero neutral. Of course!
The rotating drive shaft it covers isn't, so it is of benefit...

It looks like the rear wing is attached to the floor and also by the small support.
