A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

that's interesting and unexpected

Do they have two different cars with number 7 and 14.. or do they just put on a different number on the same car?

Same car, different number.

Yep, but i believed we wouldn't see aero test during jerez, but only checkings , procedures, settings etc..
Let's see if others do so

Probably, they are allowed to bring only 1 car and the number is only related to the driver. (Chnge driver=change the number)
Thank you really doesn't really describe enough what I feel. - Vettel

Actually at this point of the season teams usually don't have the second chassis ready to use, it will be shipped straight to australia.

Deleted. Stale response about Rory Byrne in Wiki.
Second Edit. The next post came while i was editing the original. Thanks as it really shows how unreliable Wiki is about F1.

I have just checked & it says James Allison designed it. Rory Byrne may have been a consultant but he is not mentioned.

James Allison wasn't there when the car was designed. He came much too late.

Yes, James came pretty late to have a decisive contribution to the 2014 car. I think we might see some Allison-ish things on the F14-T in about 1,5-2 months from now.

That's just the mounting to keep the pitot array in place.
