I am sure that Michael receives the best treatment possible. We have to trust his doctors and wait.

You all are absolutely correct. I did not mean for that to be the fulcrum of my point, but absolutely I agree because it's natural does not equate to safe. It was a really poor way I phrased that, my apologies. My intention was to emphasize in that case, the case with this other patient, that it was safe and worked well, not that because it's made in nature that it's perfectly fine. I really messed up what I was trying to encourage--which was to simply look at all options. I just really want Michael to recover. My bad.

Sabine Kehm (his manager) gave another update today to say that there is nothing to say.

The news lockdown has been very effective, which means you can be sure that anything you read is rubbish unless it's a reputable news site quoting Sabine Kehm.

Dear FIA, if you read this, please pm me for a redesign of the Technical Regulations to avoid finger nose shapes for 2016! :-)

I see the main news sites now have direct quotes from Sabine Kehm. She's saying reducing the sedation will take a "long time".

Again, please respect the family's privacy. We don't need speculation on matters that have not been confirmed by Kehm.

Isn't it weird that Kehm dismissed the rumours going on about reducing the sedation, only to confirm it a few days later?

She chose her words carefully, she said that unofficial reports were speculation. She never said the speculation was wrong, or that it was correct. She simple said it was speculation and she wasn't going to comment until the family were prepared to issue an update.

To be honest, I'd do the same as Kehm. We should respect the family's privacy.

Having read exhaustively about the reduction of sedation, I think the doctors know that if MSC was kept under for much longer there would be next to no chance of him having much control over his motor functions.
Note the words "much control". Because as it stands Schumi is in the red zone. There is some hope however...

By slowly taking him out his sedated/comatose state, doctors can monitor Brain function for each increment of his arousal. And there are many stages to it.

If Schumacher gets any semblance of consciousness, you can bet he will be pushing heaven and earth.
It's in his blood.

Think Richard Leeds is right on this one. Here in the Netherlands it's on almost every site and they have no real source. Not really respectfull.

The story is featured on Autosport.com, which usually checks its news sources carefully.

I think Sabine handels the tragedy in exactly the way Michael would have wanted it. Highly professional, protective of his and his families privacy and thanking the fans for the support. I'm pretty sure that the family is glad to have her to handle the media side.

Now all we can is hope for the best.
