I still don't understand how an asymmetrical nose could bypass the single cross section rule, like lotus and merc?

Because the cross section is measured at one specific plane. They make one piece end before that plane so there is only one cross section to measure.
If you are more fortunate than others, build a larger table not a taller fence.

idfx, are you by chance active in f1, or perhaps an engineer? That's a very awesome render of the mclaren car.

used various photographic references of car mclaren and willians. Then I developed the modeling and rendering.
I did some tests and the color red helps in visualization. Can I change this detail.
I made a render with the color orange-papaya with 75% chromium was interesting

If someone has a job offer I... :D
I'm finalizing a new concept. I believe that is outside the rules, but a good study.

Re: Inverted keel.

Really like the design but I have an inkling that this is illegal. I seem to recall that the nose tip cross section must lie between the point above the trailing edge if the front wing main plane (neutral section) and a point somewhere beyond the front wing endplate line. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Lovely renders, too.

thanks very much.
Modeled the front steps as following all the rules, then did a 180 degree turn this back and redesigned the parties respecting the limits.
The nose that invert. the black area is the beginning of the nose.
I read the rules, and this approach is quite different and can be discussed and generate new ideas.
I do not know if it's legal or illegal wanted the opinion of you.
Thanks

I dont think that works. The nose tip is considered the most forward part of the crash structure. So you can't assign a piece of crash structure somewhere in the middle and convince the fia that crash structure just got bended in front of the nose tip.
