It's not (intentionally) creating a vortex there. There's nothing beyond that point on the car to curate the air flow for. Instead it'll either be because the FIA told them "no, you need to put a flap to cover up your starter motor hole", or because it acts like a little gurney on the flow through the starter motor slit, and forces it up a bit more, creating even more low pressure at the exit of the diffuser.thomin wrote:emmepi27 wrote:Don't know if someone spotted it first, but Mercedes has closed lower part of "U" central section of diffuser (ph Sutton - Motorsport Magazine)

Yeah, I'm pretty sure the closed c*nt was among the first thing that were noticed around here. Certainly an interesting detail. I wonder what kind of vortex this creates and how they are intended to help...

no mention of the placement of the intercooler, I still think its a Top mount, rather than a side pod mount like the fake 3D Press PR video shows. Top mount above the engine and cooled by ram air from the air box.Holm86 wrote:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=anLDCVD6v1s
This is incredible. I just saw this add in my local newspaper, translated into my native language!Owen.C93 wrote:CGI but it's what I'm expecting the new nose to look like.

The marketing department would have had it made during last week. This is precisely what "Win on Sunday, Sell on Monday" is.NewtonMeter wrote:This is incredible. So, did they manage to create that add, distribute it worldwide, translate it, print it and got it on the shelves in 3 days??
Or did they know they'd win and created the add previously? One can't help but wonder...at least Mercedes are getting Bang for their buck now.
Haha, I didn't but sometimes I do come here once I've worked my way through all of Sutton's images to see what you boys have seen that I've missedOwen.C93 wrote:Where do you think Somers first saw that detail .
It act's like a gurney. It might be hinged too.
Ricciardo has a similar one.SectorOne wrote:We need some scalabroni drawings of the Merc i think
It has so many interesting features i´m surprised he or Peter never really covered it much.
Found this gem too, Button´s teamradio,
"What are the laptimes that the leaders are doing? Obviously not the Mercedes, but the rest."
