Ferrari F14T

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

I moved the aero calculations from here into the old Aerodynamics in F1 thread. Calculate away.

Ted sure does speculate a lot. I don't believe Ferrari would be allowed to keep their grid spots if the mgu-k was over 120kw. It seems to me to be more likely to do with the rule that stipulates the max torque the mgu-k can use. I guess I'm saying Ferrari went over the torque limit but rpm was low enough to stay under the power limit.

Ted is assuming development is the only factor influencing the teams performances. Of course it isn't.

Hey guys, can somebody more knowledgeable about the F14T point me to the timeframe in which this potential opening under the nose appeared?

Thanks a lot.

I think that this is a new feature on the car. I have never noticed it before and cannot find it in the photographs from the Spanish Grand Prix. It is most definetely for battery cooling, isn't it?
No, Kimi, no. You will not have the drink.

I have to agree with Infy! The Spain track is a handling focused track, even with the long straight. And I guess stiffness was more important than drag reduction..

And I doubt the duct H2H found is for battery cooling, IMO it's placed to far forward and the element on which it's positioned looks to small, I think it's just driver cooling since the ferrari nose has no other solutions for this!

"adjust power"

said it all really.

he was not penalize as his car was not chosen to be scrutineer by the steward post quali. FIA only found out before the race start.

To you have a link ready? Thanks.

It seems propable that it is linked to testing, perhaps monitoring the airflow under the nose?
