Oooh! I just see what Rosberg did there!ACJJ619 wrote:Rosberg has turned in far too early there. Putting steering angle on the car during heavy braking is the easiest way to lock the brakes. Binning it into the wall would be too obvious and is far more work to rectify for the team. I think it was deliberate. He knew it would unsettle Lewis. He's lost 4 races in a row to Lewis now and if he can't beat him on track, beat him off the track.
just what i thought when i saw it, there is no way anyone could be harmed by his car parked deep on the left ... would that still be yellow?Poleman wrote:I might be wrong here as i don't know how the safety system works, but i do believe that had Rosberg carried on and went deeper into the end of that escape road and parked it there, there wouldn't be a problem at all or would make the yellow disappear earlier...Just my opinion nothing more.
As long as he didn't reversed unto the track, I think he is fine.. As long as he didn't crosse the white line?gray41 wrote:On the sky pad onboard with Lewis you could see Rosberg reversing towards track, literally cm for the white line, thats not where the car ended up when he first parked it.
That's where they may well pull him up. I don't think Rosberg made the mistake on purpose but perhaps having made the initial mistake his handling of it deliberately prolonged the yellows. Had he just continued to the end of the escape road and shut the engine down then there wouldn't be any issue. His qualifying was over so why was he trying to reverse back out whilst others were still trying to set times?Poleman wrote:I might be wrong here as i don't know how the safety system works, but i do believe that had Rosberg carried on and went deeper into the end of that escape road and parked it there, there wouldn't be a problem at all or would make the yellow disappear earlier...Just my opinion nothing more.
Any driver taking part in any practice session who, in the opinion of the stewards, stops unnecessarily on the circuit or unnecessarily impedes another driver shall be subject to the penalties referred to in Article 31.6.astracrazy wrote:anyone know what the rules are for reversing on track?
i wondered if there is rule referring to actually reversing your car. I seem to recall MB saying once when a car was reversing that they must only do so if there car is in a dangerous position and it is safe to do sobeelsebob wrote:Any driver taking part in any practice session who, in the opinion of the stewards, stops unnecessarily on the circuit or unnecessarily impedes another driver shall be subject to the penalties referred to in Article 31.6.astracrazy wrote:anyone know what the rules are for reversing on track?
The penalties referred to are basically - a grid drop.
Im guessing thats not a dangerous position where Rosberg was.astracrazy wrote:30.2 Drivers are strictly forbidden to drive their car in the opposite direction to the race unless this is absolutely necessary in order to move the car from a dangerous position.
