Well i think they can't remove the yellow flag until the car is removed completely... If another driver fails to brake he may crash into nicos car...

Binning it into the wall would be too obvious and is far more work to rectify for the team. I think it was deliberate. He knew it would unsettle Lewis. He's lost 4 races in a row to Lewis now and if he can't beat him on track, beat him off the track.
Oooh! I just see what Rosberg did there!

He saw that his sector one was down by a tenth and knowing that he was vulnerable right then and there, he quickly decided to Park it to yellow flag the corner to stymie the other drivers!

I gave him the benefit of the doubt initially, but now, I think he did it deliberately!

just what i thought when i saw it, there is no way anyone could be harmed by his car parked deep on the left ... would that still be yellow?

On the sky pad onboard with Lewis you could see Rosberg reversing towards track, literally cm for the white line, thats not where the car ended up when he first parked it.

Anyone have video of Rosberg's backup, either from Hamilton's car or from regular track-side camera?

Whatever you think of the initial fail, it will come down to the back-up in terms of OK vs penalty.

As long as he didn't reversed unto the track, I think he is fine.. As long as he didn't crosse the white line?

That's where they may well pull him up. I don't think Rosberg made the mistake on purpose but perhaps having made the initial mistake his handling of it deliberately prolonged the yellows. Had he just continued to the end of the escape road and shut the engine down then there wouldn't be any issue. His qualifying was over so why was he trying to reverse back out whilst others were still trying to set times?

So he could get penalised for impeding. But chances are there'll be nothing definitive found and no punishment given.

Regardless of how you feel about the incident itself it's better the FIA investigates and either punishes or exonerates him. It would have been far worse had it been left to fan speculation and rumour with no official verdict.

I agree with ACJJ619. He put steering angle while the car is under braking produces tends to produce tyre lock so id say he did it on purpose but does anybody have any type of footage from Lewis side of view when that happened?

Any driver taking part in any practice session who, in the opinion of the stewards, stops unnecessarily on the circuit or unnecessarily impedes another driver shall be subject to the penalties referred to in Article 31.6.

The penalties referred to are basically - a grid drop.

i wondered if there is rule referring to actually reversing your car. I seem to recall MB saying once when a car was reversing that they must only do so if there car is in a dangerous position and it is safe to do so

if there is such a rule, then he broke it, because by reversing he put his car in a more dangerous place

30.2 Drivers are strictly forbidden to drive their car in the opposite direction to the race unless this is absolutely necessary in order to move the car from a dangerous position.

Could that of been broken? Considering where he parked up before reversing wasn't really dangerous
