Does a highly cambered (negative camber) rounded thread tire like those in motorcycles can give more grip than a wide conventional car tire for the same rubber compound?
'For the first time, the experts have succeeded in harnessing the benefits of an established physical theory, according to which, at large camber angles, a tire with a curved tread can transmit greater lateral forces than conventional tires. '

This is the working principle in the Mercedes F400 concept car.
Although FIA bans active suspension (for now maybe not in the future?)
If this rounded thread tire principle is true then is can be already used in F1 front tires by a large caster angle to incline the wheels as the steering is turned. The kingpin angle may be offset from the wheel center to reduce overall caster.
