A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.
I splitted off the Teflon Coating from this thread. The discussion was more about the coating itself then its properties on the car. It's interesting and deserved it's own thread. Please do continue discussion there: http://www.f1technical.net/forum/viewto ... =1&t=19778
"...and there, very much in flames, is Jacques Laffite's Ligier. That's obviously a turbo blaze, and of course, Laffite will be able to see that conflagration in his mirrors... he is coolly parking the car somewhere safe."Murray Walker, San Marino 1985

I think it will replace old one, that would create much more drag than this solution. If you look at the other teams they all have a similar kind of solution. I think will race the new seat if they get positive results maybe a bit less downforce but much less drag.
Irvine:"If you don't have a good car you can't win it, unless you are Michael or Senna. Lots of guys won in Adrian Newey's cars, big deal. Adrian is the real genius out there, there is Senna, there is Michael and there is Newey. They were the three great talents."

Or it could be that this monkey seat will be used in conjunction with the big hot air exit, seeing it's located above the hot air exit?
The normal monkey seat is located much lower and the big hot air exit blocks the airflow, which could reduce its efficiency.
