mclaren will want to announce there driver partnership themselves, but as you say, button will want to announce himself he is leaving the sport - which will more or less announce there line up.

if button goes it will be a joint press conference i'd expect. if button stays i'd expect just an announcement from ron

like I said, no Lego in F1

http://www.worldcarfans.com/11412048539 ... laren-deal

Lego chief executive Jorgen Vig Knudstorp on Thursday was quoted by the Copenhagen Post
as saying F1 sponsorship "did not fit Lego's brand".
Really hope for Button to stay. Either way chances are extremely slim for Kevin to get a 2015 contract.
I remain by my opinion he has actually zero chance on a seat for 2015, but Mclaren surprised me in various
ways before.

Magnussen not getting a 2015 Mclaren seat doesn't neccesarily mean Button will get the seat though.
Alonso is as good as certain, but after that?

Dennis told Martin Brundle on Sky he needs to stretch his imagination to 4 instead just 3 interests, but
whether these 4 actually are Alonso, Button, Magnussen and ???? is not guaranteed.

Perhaps K-Mag's departure has been decided long ago and informed [ K-mag having the contract to keep
his mouth shut doesn't mean he is gonna stay ] him long ago, same could go for JB.

Alonso for all that matters can have a contract since late octobre begin November, and there are 4 people
in the running for the 2nd seat.

Really time for an announcement now though, this is going on for wayy to long now.

Actually, it's getting to the point it's really quite offensive. Offensive and respectless to the fans, aswell as the drivers (and team for that matter).

No decision after board meeting.

http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/117042

McLaren's treatment of this has really been quite poor. I've come to expect more from Ron Dennis. Hanging both drivers out in the wind in this way is unprofessional. Cheers to Button as his comments even this morning remain professional in spite of all this.

I'm starting to think they just say "Fluff it, we just sign the first Bloke with a Super License that happens to stumble into our Motorhome at Jerez."

Genuinely unimpressed.

If they can't even decide on the two drivers that doesn't inspire confidence for difficult decisions....
I'm wondering if Honda is already regretting chosing McLaren as their Partner. I could understand if they started thinking about alternatives.

Wtf is going on at mclaren...

This is disgrace. Give your drivers the chance of finding a drive, do the right thing and make a decision, the worst decision is no decision.

Sit down and make the hard choice and live with the consequences, you are the board, your job among other things is to demonstrate leadership, start doing it.

So disrespectful to the drivers and really the entire team. Button is a world champ for f sake! Now is the time to be working with the drivers for 2015 and McLaren is still playing musical chairs.

Ron Dennis is the problem. He wants his way at any cost.He keeps this up,he might find himself in the same place as Whitmarsh....in gardening leave.

He must find money,so don't be surprise the second seat is a paying driver or brings a sponsor.

He also seems to have a problem with button for some reason.

I think the problem is as follows

Ron wants Alonso & Kmag
Board want Alonso & Button
And Honda want Alonso & Asimo robot

Problem is with Honda engineers getting Asimo a super license and contract negotiation. :D

This is normally something dealt with at TP level with sign off from the main board of the holding company, for example Brawn/Wolff/Horner/Whitmarsh/Domenicali announced previous driver changes. In this case Boullier shrugs and says its nothing to do with him.

I can only conclude that a ruthless decision maker like Dennis has become a hesitant blatherer because something is preventing him from taking action. I suspect a power battle for control of the company is going on so no major decisions will take place until that is resolved. The drivers are a collateral damage of that battle, whoever wins that battle will confirm the decision in an instant.

So we're just waiting to see who emerges from boardroom battle walking and who is carried out the back defeated.

Could it be that Mclaren & Alonso assumed Hamilton would have signed his Mercedes extension just after the last race and therefore penciled in 3rd December to announce/confirm their drivers for 2015? As Hamilton still hasn't done this the stall continues?
