I think Ferrari will have the edge over Williamsbit1817 wrote:The times of Ferrari are pretty impressive compared to Bottas in the Williams. Even if Mercedes haven't shown their full potential, it seems that the racing speed of both, Ferrari and Williams is not that far away.
Williams run heavy over their short runs, at least that is what they did in 2014. Whereas their long runs always revealed the true story.FrukostScones wrote:I think Ferrari will have the edge over Williams
(I know that Williams tends to run heavy on Fridays)
This is interesting. Last year, Williams had a low drag package and were doing 317.5 KPH and let's assume Lotus this year is low on downforce and hence showing good top speed. The difference is much smaller than last year, where a Ferrari engined car was standing on 8th position in top speed, compared to this year, where it is standing second !!!darkvador wrote:https://pbs.twimg.com/media/B_9Z3XyXEAAQkwm.jpg:large
I say leave the second and take the 3rd in speed trap as Ferrari will run more downforce than Sauber. Seriously Ferrari made a good job with developing the engineGPR-A wrote:This is interesting. 2. Nasr - 320.9 - Ferrari

its simple Mercs are going the redbull way of 2009-13WaikeCU wrote:What's astonishing is from that list, the Merc's are 'quite slow' compared to others, but yet they still set the fastest times by a huge margin. Does this mean they have a lot higher cornering speeds in the slower sections instead?
Well, you will never know the downforce levels of any cars. So, my comparison here is taking the cars, which we can safely assume, have low downforce (hence low drag) levels and hence produce higher top speeds. Looking at the fast laps of the practices, it appears that Ferrari has better downforce levels (again assumption that their downforce is causing drag) than Sauber (quite obvious i guess) and hence I am only looking at Sauber for top speed.Harsha wrote:I say leave the second and take the 3rd in speed trap as Ferrari will run more downforce than Sauber. So FOM blocked here tooFurtado das Neves wrote:Hello to all F1 Technical fans and crew.
Can anybody tell me where can I find the Official F1 files with the Lap Times info, Speed trap, Sector times.
It seems that these kind of information is unavaiable, at least in the sites that usuallt have it, don't appear anymore.

Thank you for your help.
Best regards to all.
Right, and more downforce = better tire life so its definitely the way to go if you have a big enough lap time advantage not to have to be worried about overtaking.Harsha wrote:its simple Mercs are going the redbull way of 2009-13WaikeCU wrote:What's astonishing is from that list, the Merc's are 'quite slow' compared to others, but yet they still set the fastest times by a huge margin. more aero = more speed through corners and slower speed through straights
Agreed but any way the final point is Ferrari made a big step forward compared to last year how much will be seen in the first few racesGPR-A wrote: Well, you will never know the downforce levels of any cars. This strategy has always worked well....when you are at the top on Saturday. Ferrari used to do the same, I remember Michael during 2001/2/3, he used to have so much downforce in the corners! but he was very slow in the straights.Harsha wrote:its simple Mercs are going the redbull way of 2009-13WaikeCU wrote:What's astonishing is from that list, the Merc's are 'quite slow' compared to others, but yet they still set the fastest times by a huge margin.
