So what happened in Silverstone? The Mecca of high speed downforce sectors.
I don't get it either. Seriously though, what's up with that?

Wait so those looong double corners and exit, traction and downforce mean nothing due to the 150 meters to the line?
Are you jesting, juzh??

Not sure what Renault blowing up in free practice has to do with the last sector of Q3 either.

Believe it or not Silverstone is more about traction out of slow corners than high speed downforce. Mercedes just killed everyone coming out of 4, 7, and 17. Look at sector two, you have to brake into 6 and 7 is a long slow corner.

Just asking, as it's another race weekend with you on Renaults back. You care somewhat. Fact is, that final sector has far less to do with Renault than it does Red Bull.

Cyril Abiteboul will be smiling.

It's abundantly clear that Renault has nothing to smile about performance-wise.
At least Red Bull has improved.

Seriously though, isn't it great to see Red Bull Renault back near the front, fighting it out with the Ferrari's and the Willy's :)

That Red Bull lost less time in an engine sector than an aero/chassis sector is abundently clear. Therefore Abiteboul has something to smile about... :D
Still not excusing Renault's lack of competitiveness.

So Hungary provides more proof the RB11 is no dog, if Renault had the same power as Ferrari imo RedBull would be challenging Mercedes!

Check the sector times from Q3, Dan was barely a 10th off in S1 and S2 and faster in S3 than Vettel.

Not much off a stretch imo, shows the chassis is up to the task.

Btw, I'm not saying beating, I'm saying challenging Mercedes (Dan is within 1/10th of Hamilton in S2).

The RB11 was a dog at the start of the season, they supposedly had a break through recently: http://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/analy ... -red-bull/

Christian Horner said himself that they would be half a second away from Mercedes with the same engine at most circuits. The W06 is still the best chassis overall. I'm sure they could clinch a few wins, but only when the Mercedes racing team make mistakes.

Did I just Spy Horner, Marko and Lauda thrashing out engine prices? :D

I'm sure it wasn't perfect, however the unusable nature of the upgraded Renault power plant early in the year would have meant they had no idea what was and wasn't working chassis wise.
