Wait so those looong double corners and exit, traction and downforce mean nothing due to the 150 meters to the line?
Are you jesting, juzh??
Not sure what Renault blowing up in free practice has to do with the last sector of Q3 either.
Just asking, as it's another race weekend with you on Renaults back. You care somewhat. Fact is, that final sector has far less to do with Renault than it does Red Bull.Juzh wrote:FoxHound wrote:Juzh

That Red Bull lost less time in an engine sector than an aero/chassis sector is abundently clear. Therefore Abiteboul has something to smile about...ME4ME wrote: It's abundantly clear that Renault has nothing to smile about performance-wise.
At least Red Bull has improved.
Seriously though, isn't it great to see Red Bull Renault back near the front, fighting it out with the Ferrari's and the Willy's
That's a bit of a stretch tbh.djos wrote:So Hungary provides more proof the RB11 is no dog, if Renault had the same power as Ferrari imo RedBull would be challenging Mercedes!
Check the sector times from Q3, Dan was barely a 10th off in S1 and S2 and faster in S3 than Vettel.Juzh wrote:That's a bit of a stretch tbh.djos wrote:So Hungary provides more proof the RB11 is no dog, if Renault had the same power as Ferrari imo RedBull would be challenging Mercedes!
The RB11 was a dog at the start of the season, they supposedly had a break through recently: http://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/analy ... -red-bull/djos wrote:So Hungary provides more proof the RB11 is no dog, if Renault had the same power as Ferrari imo RedBull would be challenging Mercedes!
I'm sure it wasn't perfect, however the unusable nature of the upgraded Renault power plant early in the year would have meant they had no idea what was and wasn't working chassis wise.J0rd4n wrote:The RB11 was a dog at the start of the season, they supposedly had a break through recently: http://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/analy ... -red-bull/djos wrote:So Hungary provides more proof the RB11 is no dog, if Renault had the same power as Ferrari imo RedBull would be challenging Mercedes!
Christian Horner said himself that they would be half a second away from Mercedes with the same engine at most circuits. The W06 is still the best chassis overall. I'm sure they could clinch a few wins, but only when the Mercedes racing team make mistakes.
