According to COTA and Skyf1 twitter accounts qualifying should be on schedule today. COTA even encouraged fans to come to track.

So far qualifying is scheduled for 13:00 local time, and since I jinxed it, I'm guessing tomorrow :p

I had the same thought! Very interesting if it pans out that way. We should know in less than an hour...

Yes I was watching Sky as well and they did mention that based on conditions forecasted they had decided to encourage running in Free Practice 3 with the best times to posibly use as qualifying times how ever during free practice 3 the Wether data showed improved weather conditions for later on during the day. Precisely during Quali so they would indeed expect to be able to run the Qualifiers as scheduled..

Press the play button. If the green color means light-enough-to-race, then we might get a lucky break around 1pm local time.

It's looking like qualifying will happen, as the system finally finished passing through the Austin area, in two hours it will stop raining altogether.

This is man driving machine. In these conditions the driver is 90% of that lap. They are working hard.

Qualifying doesn't look quite as good now, delayed until 2 at least...

They could have also prepared a soapbox race down the main straight to entertain the fans.

I agree, and sad they dont go out in this condition because if driver is 90% then Alonso would win pole.
Vettel would be P17
