For the record, I do not want Lewis and Nico to take each other out in crashes or to be reckless in any way. This would be counter-productive to the sport and obviously to Lewis and Nico themselves. I believe most everyone wants to see skill, mental toughness, and clean driving. A comment by Toto late last year, I believe, (I do not have the clip where he said this, although I would like to see the clip again) that Mercedes were at a risk in becoming "the bad guys" or something to that effect by dominating as they are. So there was a suggestion of sorts to unleash their drivers (again, I wish I had the clip). I do not want reckless "unleashing." There was too much of this previously.
Well, why not give Williams and these other smaller outfits the same spec engine, mapping, fuel, or whatever dominating factors they have. These two last years the championship has been lopsided due to such an innovated ICE. If Mercedes were to level the playing field and compete chaises-wise with the other teams, then, it would help develop their car departments (chassis). They have a great engine but are stingy with the latest spec and fuel it seems. Let their engineering depts develop themselves further. They are a relatively huge company compared to Manor, Force India, and Williams, What are they afraid of? Being beat with their own power unit? They already have a great and very innovated chassis as it is, Why do they want it all now that the formula is tilted to their favor?
