Sadly, it won't change anything. There is no doubt that Bernie drove forward F1 back in the day. But today he's holding it back.

He's more than holding it back. He's got it stuck in reverse!!
Favourite driver: Lando Norris
Favourite team: McLaren

Turned down the chance to meet Vettel at Silverstone in 2007. He was a test driver at the time and I didn't think it was worth queuing!! 🤦🏻‍♂️

I have a bit of sympathy for Bernie (not for what he says) but because by now he is staring at his own mortality.
How many people of his age survive more than a couple of years past retiring? Surely at 85 he sees that as soon as he is ousted and loses his motivation/work/purpose he will go downhill fast.

He's clinging on to more than just the job, he is clinging on to life.

My guess is he'll stay as long as F1 keeps making money (or until the inevitable). Nothing else matters to Private Equity firms. They don't care about the sport, or what BE says to the press, unless it takes money out of their pocket. What I don't get is that surely some of his actions have cost CVC money - they're unable to float on the Singapore Stock Exchange due to Gribkowsky, VW won't enter as long as he's in charge, they can't sell to any private consortiums for the price they expect as BE keeps talking it down to devalue the sport etc. I guess his $50M hosting fees make up for those transgressions.

He's a billionaire, even if it's the end of his life he's going to be spending it on mega-yachts and private jets and mansions in a world of luxury you can only dream of; that's a hell of a way to spend your final years. It's hard to feel sympathy for him just for not being immortal and not being able to enjoy his amazing lifestyle for longer, especially when he hordes it all even at the expense of his own creation and gives nothing to help others.

And this http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/123164

If Ferrari wins it's ok
If not it's bad.
The Schumacher area was at least as boring as someone are trying to tell that it is now.
And he was winning on behalf on Barichello and Irvine ..
Shame

Bernie likes stirring trouble just so that he can... After reading a bunch of auto bios of his friends...it seems that he will forgo a lot of money just to prove his point or to make someone or some group suffer and to show that he is in charge...

I don't think he much cares if F1 is doing the right thing, I think he believes it's too big to fail.

I love the pole results........
Did you mean 'the poll results'?

We haven't had an F1 pole result yet - in 2016..

I'll miss Bernie in F1.. like I miss Sepp at FISA.. it might be a bit like missing a wart, reassuring perhaps..
