The entire point of having something like this is to protect the driver, so it will have to be extremely strong, and thus will take a good deal of force to shatter. The f-16 & f-22 for example have such strong bubbles that they blow it off as one piece, instead of trying to shatter it, because the amount of explosive needed isn't safe for the pilot.
