Just keep looking at the shot, The gap is already closed. If both kept driving on the same line, they would have touched. Lewis should have braked.GPR-A wrote:One of the cleanest shot. Look at Lewis' steering and he is ready to go left, but Nico kept closing the door, despite having Lewis almost next to him. Nico had poor pace out of that turn and Lewis came blazing in. Clearly, Nico's fault.

You have to be fair though, in so far as Ferrari similarly sacrificed Vettel. And they surely didn't want to favor Kimi.GrayGreat wrote: Your team RedBull**** gave their lead driver the worse strategy, of course they are better than Mercedes AMG
To me they both compromised with going to the right at the same time, but since Hamilton was way faster he ended up squeezed onto the grass. To me no one is to blame, it was mostly a misfortune.GPR-A wrote:One of the cleanest shot. A. Drivers B. I'm surprised they didn't know/estimate medium pace difference on a long run - prime vs option strategy. [Not Vettel bashing] - even if he had a slower pace than possible (same for D.R. earlier) and blocked Ricciardo the pace difference wasn't that big to guarantee overtakes later(?).Morteza wrote:I totally agree. Maybe you are right, probabily they considered that they couldn't pass another car. Anyway for today I see more the empty part glass than the full one... They wasted an "easy" 1-2 on saturday.basti313 wrote:He would have finished ahead of Ric, even without the tire failure. And with the other two guys not making their tires work to the end it would have been a win. With only staying behind the RedBulls until the end it would have been P3 or P4 for sure....ripper wrote:I don't understand VET strategy, in my opinion they changed too early the Softs. Sigh...
Nobody saying about it is wrong to try to overtake. It was a BAD overtaking move. We are lucky that they did not both go out in a T-bone.ChrisM40 wrote:I cant believe anyone is criticising RIC for trying to overtake! Agreed to both!Sevach wrote: Stopping Vettel just 1 lap after Kimi was one of the dumbest things i've ever seen.
And in fact not giving Kimi a bigger tire offset over Verstappen was pretty dumb already.
Not really, its a move we have seen dozens of times. It shouldn't be an issue with the best drivers in the world., hell even drivers in much lesser formulas manage it OK. Its just Vettel whinging, again, when he does it all the time himself.LionKing wrote:Nobody saying about it is wrong to try to overtake. It was a BAD overtaking move.
