I'm beginning to get very worried for Vettel.

Nothing you said contradicts what I said. But what I do find irritating is that people keep claiming McLaren said stuff like we have a "super chassis" when clearly they didn't and no McLaren fan thinks it's chassis is better than redbull or Mercedes so what people are doing building strawmen to knock them down again I don't know
Their chassis is Force India/Williams class but they keep claiming it's awesome, of course people will take offense.
if it looks similar when mclaren use honda pu while Williams and fi use mercedes, then probably its better, since only mclaren is forced to compromise ideal downcorce to compensate lack of power and top speed

Williams doesn't exactly have a "downforce no matter how" car do they?

If anything they are probably lower drag than teams on other engines too.

- I see chassis championship is still alive and well even though it's the worst time to talk about it (Mercedes vs Red Bull), is it stil seperated from tyres and non-top speed/engine track impact?
- What does this GPS measure, horsepower, lap time (you don't need GPS for that :-)), impact of engines on lap times? Sector times are not some definitive proof either, here probably more. The idea is that Hungary is the track where engine impact (engine differences) on a lap time is one of the smallest. Hmm:
"Any driver who is judged to have left the track three times at these corners (when counted cumulatively) will be shown a black and white flag, one further crossing will result in a report being made to the stewards for not having made every reasonable effort to use the track,"

"As discussed, this is likely to result in a drive-through penalty for any driver concerned."
You see how electronic sensors change nothing. Likely = more likely for some less for others. It's not like they suddenly started caring about fairness, it's about kerbs, tyres. At least they acknowledged pushing off after 4 years.

When they had the same engine they blamed the fuel lol.

It appears if Ferrari manage anything better than 5th and 6th they will have done well. Hopefully, for their sake, race pace is slightly stronger.

I'd say to effectively compare chassis you'd have to remove any performance differentiation from full-throttle acceleration. Braking (from an equal speed) and cornering would therefore need to be compared. Pretty difficult unless you have access to full telemetry, and I don't think anyone outside the FIA have access to the telemetry of more than 1 team.

The track has been hit by a heavy storm!

That means:
- Hamilton on pole
- Golden opportunity for McLaren to qualify in the TOP 5
- Both Williams relegated in Q2

Qaulifying laps behind safety car mainly because Charlie is so scared of rain now and because Pirelli have god of awful wet tyres designed for installation laps only

It's practice, it could be down to many things. I love how people are eager to down play the chassis at every opportunity. But this car is getting faster, ofcourse the chassis is probably behind Merc and redbull but without the same power the chassis will always be more compromised. Once we are on similar power than we can see who comes out top.
I asked a simple question. Not sure what you love about 'how people'... And if you care to trace back since the beginning of this power era formula there have been noises from WITHIN the McLaren team also about how good their chassis is, as well as from their enthusiastic fans of course.

Redbull don't have Mercedes power but their chassis is not so 'compromised' that it cactually shines on downforce circuits. McLaren chassis didn't shine either when they had Mercedes power.

It's pure speculation as to how much their chassis is 'compromised' due to engine power. You don't know that. And many times this season their car has looked unstable and all over the place, not simply like they're running too much or too little down force due to engine compromise.

I could just as well say 'I love how people speculate and theorise in defence of probably their favourite teams' then. No? While having no factual information of the true state of the car

They will most likely delay qualifying. It's bucketing it down, so I can't help but agree if they do.

Please can someone explain to me why the rules are in place meaning that the teams aren't allowed to change set up between a wet quali and dry race or vice-versa..??

Just makes no sense to me...
Favourite driver: Lando Norris
Favourite team: McLaren

Turned down the chance to meet Vettel at Silverstone in 2007. He was a test driver at the time and I didn't think it was worth queuing!! 🤦🏻‍♂️
