Yes, a Superlicense is renewed each season.
The first time you need to pay for the entrance fee (1200 euros, now 10 000) and have winning requirements.
IRC, you need either to win F3 euroseries championship, win or finish in the top 5 of GP2,Champ car or Formula Nippon.
If this is your second or more season in F1, you superlicense is then renewed but you need to pay 477 euros per point you earned in the WDC, and now this 2000 euros.
The aim of this measure has not been annonced but according to autosport it will force only the best drivers to enter F1 (those who have a lot of sponsors).
If this is the case it is a serious acceptance F1 hasn't been with the best of the best only.
But well i don't don't really think this is quite a good idea. There're some less good pilots full of money...
