1. Regarding FP2 times, Vettel`s best time was set on US tyres on the last lap of a 5 laps stint and Lewis did his best lap on S tyres also on his last lap of a 4 laps stint. Both times were set almost on the same session time. Bearing in mind here there is 1,2-1,4 sec/lap between US and S tyre and S3 is a traction sector we could say Vettel was running havier. How much? We don`t know but for one thing we could be sure: it was not PU mapping related too much ...

2. What do you understand from the following statement which could be seen on the official F1 site (https://www.formula1.com/en/latest/feat ... -call.html): "Both the softs and supersofts must be used in the race." ? I`m not a native English speaker so indulge me and tell me if that means it`s mandatory to run both tyres or at least one of them .... Had it`s mandatory to run both then we should see more teams opting for SS tyre in Q2 in order to get a one stop strategy - SS + S ...

3. What`s your thoughts about the new live timing graphics ? It`s good that we could see drivers progress between each sectors and overall but what I don`t understand are those multiple colored dots that doesn`t actual represents the track corners, coz they are 24 and the race track has only 16 or so ...

In a sense, It's a relieve to see Alonso in midpack with that Mclaren. I just hope we could see him moving forward throughout the season. Just a case of Alonso pushing the performance of that Mclaren to a different area I think. Does Stoffel have an issue today?
A little disheartening for me because ut is still a step back from leading the midfield at the end of 2016 when they could beat williams on pace. The Macca chassis looks average to say the least but I just hope Honda gets that engine uncorked for Europe.

You have to run either a set of softs or a set SS. You don't have to run both unless you want to as far as I understand it.

As for the dots. It is just the track broken up into smaller chunks between the timing points.

Interesting points made on SKY.

Faster cornering means less braking. Less braking could and should mean less energy recovery as well as obviously less chances of overtaking under braking.
All good points, although I am pretty sure the teams would be 100% aware of this, and would have configured/designed the ERS systems in such a way to compensate for this. (well the PU manufacturers)
I think there is an unhealthy obsession with 'overtaking'. For me, the most important thing is that the drivers are able to put pressure on the driver in front without cooking their tyres after only a couple of laps. Overtaking should be hard and I hope that this year we see some harder fought positions won. I think the cars will also be being driven closer to the limit so there may be more mistakes in the race itself. Time will tell.

Solid start for Hulkenberg. Expect a lot of Renault and him this season as it is an entirely new chapter with this new era and a completely new car. Midfield battle will be exciting to watch.

- Now I need to register and sign to see POS live timing without basic functions :wtf: ? Call basic premium and sell it for a tenner on your gadget built in close to slavery environment.

- I tell you, they will find a way to tax oxygen and when you're behind Swat will jump on you from the ceiling like in 'Brazil'. There'll be a basic one and premium, "to avoid brain damage give yourself a luxury of premium oxygen package".

- Palmer is surprised when he crashes, I'm not, Renault wasted three seasons on him. On YT, Sky BS artists "it's an odd one because..." yeah, driver is the odd one here.

A positive change will be that drivers can fight harder now, or at least this is the intention. I hope it will be like that.

just buy the all-inclusive version and stop complaining.
it is worth it, only cost like 9 Doner Kebap.

There's 24 timing sectors on the track. Those dots do not represent corners.

Using either S or SS is already implied in the rule requiring to use 2 different compounds, so surely they mean indeed both. Bizarre, maybe spicing the show by forcing the midfield to choose between Q and R?
Rivals, not enemies. (Now paraphrased from A. Newey).

Yes overtaking should be hard, but not impossible, on some tracks we hear drivers saying its impossible to pass, who are we to say it aint so, I guess time will tell.

They do say these cars are harder to drive, maybe this will force more mistakes - I hope so.

I'm English and its always good to see your fellow countrymen competing, however, I have to agree with you on Palmer, half way through last season I thought he was toast, so far he's not done anything to suggest he can make it at this level.

they should replace him with BUE as soon as possible.
