It seems to me Kubica is putting the problem in the right perspective. He's just talking , smiling, about an action and a reaction; a counterreaction and an overreaction. Just that. Something that has always existed in competitive sports. It's not it?

Just imagine Vettel going full attack and saying that Hamilton's road rage in Australia wasn't an example for the young kids either.
What are you referring to?

Making burnout’s for fans on a public road isn’t actually road rage... or unsportsmanlike? Stupid yes... silly yes... but road rage, no...

In comparison: yeah, Zindane was bad but Cruyff once kicked a ball trough his neighbors window!!

Vettel thought his race was over due to damage and as such he would have had nothing to lose, penalty or not, so his recourse was to not let Lewis get away with it by returning favour.

Do i believe that Vettel genuinely thought he was brake tested? Yes. But it is the train of thought after that that is the focus here. He took the law into his own hands.
This. This is exactly my impression too. I fully agree with the thought that Vettel must have thought the damage on his car was more severe than it was when he smashed into the back of the Mercedes. What followed was IMO a momentary outburst of uncontrolled rage that could have ended much worse than it did.

IMHO downplaying it doesnt do much good. Just because there was no actual damage when they banged wheels doesnt reduce its significance and the severity of the action. Watching the incident again, i find the angle at which Vettel hits Hamiltons car fron the side quite dusturbing. It seemed more than just a minor "touch".

For the record, i hate that the FIA has to even re-investigate the matter. It should have been a black flag right there on the spot. The only reason why i think there is some legitimate reason for a further investigation post race by the FIA is because the very same driver was warned in Mexico for his behavior. IMO, the FIA has now dug its own grave in the sense that they must do something to save face. If they do not punish Vettel or give him something like a 10 second time penalty added to his Baku race, they will be seen as the laughing stock of an entity that lacks the balls to act its part.

I think a Baku disqualification plus hefty fine would do the trick. A future race ban for one race too, but i hope not, as that would impact the WDC quite a bit. We will see...
Not for nothing, Rosberg's Championship is the only thing that lends credibility to Hamilton's recent success. Otherwise, he'd just be the guy who's had the best car. — bhall II

I have yet to set footage of Vettel actually turning right, into Lewis. More like He drifted over while gesticulating.

That's actually something Vettel dares to say today.

That is just nonsense

remember at that time he knew his own front wing was damaged. So he had to do something to level back the playing field; which is to damage the mercedes. If his car was unscathed from rear ending lewis' car he would not have rammed into Hamilton.
Anyhow i would like to see his Baku results removed. This is not an ordinary racing incident where a collision is caused because a driver ran out of talent. This is malicious intent and using the car as a weapon.
ridiculous. this is from the other end of the silly theories (the one that Vettel magical drifted into Hamilton). He clearly wasn't thinking rationally or trying to damage anything. It was stupidity and rage, angry because he felt wrongdoing and wanted Lewis his attention.
When it comes to Vettel, why is it so hard to believe that he does things with full understanding of what he is doing? His 'multi 21' behavior on track where he chose to pay no heed to his pit wall and then his remorseless behavior in the following press conference, 'I was faster, I overtook and I win. He didn't deserve to win'. None of what Vettel does is "Emotion or Rage" and he is not a small kid and none of those drivers on the track are kids for that matter. They get trained in a manner that we probably couldn't even imagine. They are meant to perform under enormous pressure and stressful situations. I don't believe these guys have no control over their emotions. So, it's hard for me to imagine if that was not a calculated manoeuvre. His audacity to come out after Baku incident and say, "If you break test, THAT IS WHAT YOU GET". That was quite cold blooded.
He has been getting away through a series of incidents and has been taking it for granted. So, he need be stopped and given a stern lesson.
Seriously? in that case Vettel deserves an Oscar. In my eyes he looked like a truly crazy guy. But anything seems to wokr in order to justify the biggest penalty for him.

Hopefully FIA will take a decision today. I was going to say "this is the end" but for some reason I think this will give more fuel to this endless discusion. :D

from the video from t16, i can see that vettel steering wheel was yanked to the right aggressively. the car didn't veer into Hamilton's. it was swiped into the car. look closely on the video and you can even the the arm pulling the wheel over.
Clear as day intention to ram Hamilton's car and break off a piece of the W08.
Punishment should be Vettel being removed from the results from Baku. Zero points for that race, and Ferrari should move on to the next race and keep quiet.
Vettel´s cart must be indestructible to do it without damaging his own car...
let me just put my translation glasses on here, i feel like i've seen so much replies from this direction that i think the proper translation must be:

I'm a fanboy for Vettel and therefore he can do no wrong, ever.
which raises to me the following;

do you honestly believe Vettel did nothing wrong?
including
A) slamming into hamilton
B) pulling up alongside him behind the safety car
C) waving his hands in the air gesturing
D) hitting lewis with his car from the side E) then actually overtaking him behind the safety car as brief as it is

and then

F) being surprised he actually got a drive through and discussing it aboard the radio
G) afterwards claiming there was nothing
H) that he now is under FIA investigation is that an indication he did something wrong yes or no?

and whilst at it,

do you think Vettel should be treated the same as any other driver in F1, and such, with Kvyat's punishments in mind, how do you think about that?

really honest questions.
I have many times said that yes, Vettel DID wrong and he deserved a penalty. I dont expect you to read all what I write(of course), but I have stated this 10000 times. You are manipulating my words just to imply that I think Vettel did nothing wrong which is FALSE.

Some people say that Vettel had the concious, cold and calculated intention of damaging Hamilton´s car without damaging his own car. I find this idea totally ridiculous. This does not imply that I consider what Vettel did understandable.

I think the footage at T16 looking back towards T15 shows his car momentarily straightening up and then turning into Lewis. Its only a fraction of a second, but it happens

'Drifted' into him. Hilarious.

Have a glance at 1.30 onwards. Clear as day that he came along side and then turn into him.

I read somewhere in this thread the reason FIA is considering a further penalty is because some stewart did convice during the race the rest of stewarts to not disqualify Vettel because of not interfering with the WDC

If true, that´s interfering with the WDC as fighting for the WDC should include fighting for the WDC within the rules, something Vettel didn´t do in Baku so if he deserve a DSQ allowing him to score points in the race would be unfair for the title fight

Is there any source for this or it was just some unfounded rumour?
