Schumacher won a lot of GPs from outside Pole and it's part of the reason why he has 91 wins but only 68 poles (and why that record is in reach).
And having his teammate give up the win for him, It's been the Ferrari way.
OK, produce me the list from those 91 wins where he was handed the win by his teammate. I bet you will have trouble naming more than three.

One would be considered one too many when not wearing the rose colored glasses.

Alonso is losing .7 in sector 2, that's the chassis sector, .6 in sector 1, and .6 in sector 3.
Or put another way...

in sector 1 only Vandoorne, the Renaults and the Saubers are slower. Ranked 14th (Of 19 runners) overall.

in sector 2 Alonso is faster Force India's, Torro Rossos, Hass, Saubers and Ricciado with his low drag set up. Ranked 9th overall, just a 10th shy of the Renaults

in sector 3 Alonso is faster than only the Saubers and Kvyat. Ranked 16th overall.

Relatively better in the chassis sector, but I suspect that if they add any more downforce, they will be sitting ducks on the straights.

and one would be considered one too little if you remove ur hatred filled glasses.
and how many races did he give back to Rubens for that ONE race in Austria 2002?
and also how many races did he give to Irvine?
I guess he would have got 100 wins if some of it played into his hands

By you, for example? The fact here is THE great amount of "clean" victories.

Focusing back on the race. It Looks like Mercedes could get a clean victory but Ferraris pace looks also good so we will see. I do hope that it will rain on the race.

I was going to mention it but you have already done that ! Micheal gave away Irvine a victory in 1999 long before Austria 2001...

Can they go flat through Pouhon?
I haven't seen FP1 coverage yet , so somebody tell me if anyone did it.
Nobody went flat out, just a tiny lift for everyone... Probably not gonna happen this year, most likely next year we'll see it.
I doubt it. Kimi takes a lift; while not a huge one, that's quite a lift still.

I find it amazing how people keep assuming TOs are unfair... Any reason any team should let one of his drivers ruin the chances for the WDC of his team mate?

A long time ago I was assuming the same, until I realiced it was just fanboyism/haterism to some driver. For example in Schumy era I didn´t like TOs at all, probably because he was the main rival of my favourite (Alonso) so that was a nice excuse to despise Michael achivements.

But fortunately some time later I realiced drivers are NOT the center of the universe. This is F1, it has always been a team/manufacturer competition more than a driver competition, even when we fans usually focus on drivers. Teams invest ridiculous amounts of money, including drivers salary, to reach success. THAT is what matters, not drivers ego.

Anyone who think they (teams) should let one of their drivers ruin their own chances for the WDC should think about this.... If you hire someone for your business, and at some point that employee whose salary comes from your wallet, while doing his job, may harm your company... Would you let him do it? Or you will stop him?

Thanks for the detail.

I guess they need to run with lower downforce than the rest. Spa has loooooooong straights, it would be humilliating for them otherwise

Would you rather be 1.4 off in sector 1 & 3, but only off .4 in sector 2, or 1.1 1 & 3 but .9 off in sector 2?

If the second option allow you to defend position in the race instead of being fly passed by anyone behind, then the second

But you´re making too many assumptions, I guess Mclaren know how to set up a F1 car much better than any of us

When a top team, or any top profesional in any area, make something I don´t understand, I don´t assume they don´t know what they´re doing, I think I´m missing something and try to guess what´s the reason wich motivated their decision.
