If Max gets a penalty it makes life easier for mercedes. As much as it would make the race more boring, Max should be penalized. Definitely blocked Bottas.
I'm not sure what he was thinking crawling along on the racing line, in one of the narrowest sections of the track.

An exciting end to an exciting session. Well deserved for Vettel.

Wow Vettel! Freaking awesome lap! That car could not be pedaled any quicker than that!!

This bodes quite well for the race tomorrow. I hope Verstappen does not get a penalty even though he impeded Bottas but then that's the fanboy in me talking. Perhaps there will be an epic battle between Max and Vettel. I don't know if Ham will push as hard to win considering the championship is on the line. But he does have quite the lead. I have high hopes for the race!

But wow that Ferrari and Vettel combo!

I'll just leave it here. This man has some passion. His team radios are something special.

Wrote this back in July 20th:

The final 9 races of the season will either suit the Mercedes or the Ferrari.

Hungary: Ferrari
Spa: Mercedes
Monza: Mercedes
Malaysia: Ferrari, lots of high speed corners and not very long straights.
Singapore: Ferrari
Suzuka: Mercedes
COTA: Toss up
Mexico: Toss up(high altitude means low drag, and lots of low and mid speed corners suit Ferrari)
Brazil: Mercedes
Abu Dhabi: Ferrari, despite the two long straights, sector 3 is where you gain or lose the most time, and Ferrari have been very good at mid speed 90 degree corners as evidenced in Sochi.

Surely it's only gloating if you actually got it right? Otherwise it just highlights that you haven't got a clue what you are in about.

(Edit: ^ how did he not get it right in terms of which track suited whom? Only COTA is off).

Pretty good! I made some similar predictions (not as accurate as yours) and it’s a shame the points don’t reflect the closeness of the overall pace (albeit I think Lewis would still have shaded it based on the predictions).

Max 3 laps 1:16,5! Great effort! Vettel had it in the car as well but had to wrangle it out.

Max will get penalized again. :-(

By the way im impressed by Hartley. Actually was looking more steady than Kvyat.
Sainz and Hulk should have happened a lot time ago.
For Sure!!

But interesting that Hulk pulled it out by over 3 tenths in the end - didn’t look like that was going to happen most of the weekend.

Sainz should have been allowed a better Seat earlier, he is worth it. Hartley indeed also improving and seems steady. Too bad Renault PU is failing, cooling issues?

Yes siree! But turn 1 will get even tighter then last year with the curbstobes.

Me trembling in fear they'll make it through. Expect not.

No penalty for Max!

Edit:
Reason The Stewards examined multiple angles of video evidence and radio calls to car 33,
and heard from Max Verstappen, the driver of car 33, Valtteri Bottas, the driver of car
77 and the team representatives.
The driver of car 33 was clearly aware from the team radio and using his mirrors that
car 77 was approaching on a hot lap. He moved from the racing line on the exit of turn
12 to avoid impeding to car 77. The driver of car 33 did move slowly from the racing
line which could have affected car 77, but the Stewards do not consider this as
impeding.
