So many nice (historical) names possible... 166TH (1.6, V6 Turbo Hybrid) or 266 (266cc cylinders). But they probably will go with SF18-H.

Almost the exact average of the SFH70 and W08 which is 3677.
Can we expect more cars to move into this direction?
These days I wish I could read Italian and Japanese.
Almost as interesting as watching a training session on friday.
Question is if it is a good compromise or that it turns out you end up with a car that is bad in both slow and fast corners.
I hope and pray it will not be the diva of 2018; last years car was such a blessing.
Still, apart from the engine, when improving the car for slow corners will they be able to win any race if the fast corners are compromised and slow corners are still not better than Mercedes?
I mean they loose their competive edge.
Could be they aim at a championship with few race wins, this is not unprecedented.
They have high expectations on the reliability of the engine (were not in favor of more engines for 2018) so this could be a viable strategy.

According to this source the 669 will have an Hidraulic third element for the front suspension after FIA new clarifications about the 5mm maximum height variation related to steering angle.

That is a photo of their old nose on the original 2016 car! So it is not the 2018 car "rumour" or not.

according to this, then Santander has not left F1, not left Ferrari, and Ferrari then will feature Santander greatly on their car?

nope

it's a nice artistic impression on how the 2018 car might look like, but you can be confident it won't be a realistic impression of it at all.

especially since the 2018 competitor will be rather an evoluiton of this year's car and this artistic impression looks nothing like 2017's car at all.

I’m pretty certain it’s the artist impression from last year of how the 2017 might look (the rear wing shows it couldn’t be the 2016 car).

As we saw then, the nose did not follow this path - here’s hoping for this year on aesthetic grounds

The holes on top of the sidepod will actually be bigger than the holes at the front of the side pod... So they say...

Top feed rads a-la Group C eh? Makes sense if you can steer the air properly. Are there any body regulations preventing them from fully enclosing the sides of the car to form tunnels that feed the top of the diffuser?

You coud have boxy side pods running to the rear with tunnels leading to the top of the diffuser but that will hurt aerodynamics actually.

The top of the diffuser is just a pace where yu wat air to flow unobstructed for miniml energy loss. There is an area the front of the rear wheels you want to keep high energy. And also the winglets on top of the diffuser and the vortex generators on the floor beside the rear wheels.

I don’t have a link for the original article from the Italian website tho, so i have no idea if it’s actually true.
If it is, then there’s a reason to be excited for 2018.

TJ13 had to take down that report as it was so obviously an old rendition of a year or two ago.
The thumb nose is designed for a purpose, to comply with measurements and also to allow maximum airflow. Unless measurement rules are altered, than the thumb is the current best solution.
