So in other words, we should ban anything that influences bad behaviour?

Murders, violence, crime etc - ban violent video games, movies etc
Sexism etc - ban anything where women could be perceived as objects
....
Speed kills - ban motorsports or anything that influences speeding.

My problem is, is that we are (over-) reacting to an over-sensitive minority.
But ffs, no one wants to ban girls in skimpy clothes, not even on F1 tracks. Inhale. Now exhale.

The hell of it is imo they haven't asked the girls.
I have talked to many local and NHRA trophy girls and they thought it was a huge compliment.
Then you have the top of the line girls like F1 etc. who often think the exposure, no pun intended, will lead to modeling or even better gigs.
The stuff they pull on NFL cheerleaders is really bullshit and still they stand in line for try outs so they must want it to a fairly large degree.
To achieve anything, you must be prepared to dabble on the boundary of disaster.”

Phil, its something like, Men can't be men these days.
As for the comment made by McHonda, when i read it i was telling myself, what a load of BS. women not watching because of well dressed women on the grid ?? Absolute rubbish. If they were topless or in bikinis, maybe. But they are dressed in fancy summer dresses and all look like they are enjoying themselves.
Phil look back at the gif of the girls in White dresses being squirted at with champagne only one page before this one. These girls aren’t well dressed (as Luckily in F1 most gridgirls indeed are, but in the lower classes often not so much). It does make me cringe a bit to watch this gif. Can you honoustly say you see nothing wrong with images like that?

That may have to do with being paid to be friendly, upbeat. Many people, myself included, have spoken positively about their lame jobs, usually while on the job; or when needing some comforting delusion to cope with one's lot in life.

I.e. sometimes, as some fun, when out drinking beer, we would gently hit each others beer bottle at the top with our beer to make the foam come out. This would either prompt one to drink it immediately to not make a mess or simply watch it all come out (Usually both happens because the reflex is to not spill it but it comes out too quick). Yes, we have done this to girls too when drinking beer in a teasing way.
The context is important! Did you know said girl, or was she just some random person close by?

Note - I as a man found it off-putting too. It's indicative of a bunch of people who are stuck in an era where people thought that women were for nothing other than letching at.
With all due respect, I find it more off-putting when supposed "men" are pretending about what they are and that "we" don't react to sexy clothing, breasts or females in general. If men were that immune to the other sex, mankind wouldn't have made it past a few generations and we as a species would have long died out.
I didn't say we didn't react, I said that it was inappropriate to flaunt it as part of a sporting event. Going "--- yeh, I'd stick my dick in that" has 0 relevance to driving a car around a circuit.

Us real men are capable of separating sex from the rest of daily life, and don't need to assign our value based purely on how many women we demean.

Hey, those hotties ( girls & cars) are all part of a vicarious F1 fantasy,( & unattainable by us 'regular joes' of course - naturally), but real cool to see, mentally rate, & day-dream about taking a turn in... so what?

The bubbles aint real wine in the post-victory podium splash - for the races at hardline Mohammedan events - already,
& now the fun-police have taken away the eye-candy lovelies everywhere else too..

Somehow, I doubt that Moto GP/WSBK boss, the 'big show', 'macho-man' Caramello - will be following suite..

Us real men? The guys who are not allowed to look at women? Or cant look at women when a car is around ? Real men that are telling women "you cant do that job because I find it offensive". Ironically adding to that a real man called moose is saying all this.

Stop being over sensitive and if you must try and save the world, have a go at educating some of the men in the middle east about using women as objects. Then you will see how wrong you are on this one.

Your misunderstanding my post mate. And for the love of god stop referring to women as objects! And for the love of god stop referring to women as objects! No one is doing that other than the people that want the grid girls gone!
I can't tell if you're naive or just being intentionally obtuse.

There are a lot of A holes out there that objectify women. I've lost count how many times my wife has called me and wanted me to stay on the phone when she walked to the car because some scum bag was cat calling her, or making other lewd gestures.
Yep, men can't be trusted not to objectify women employed as grid girls so it's important to remove a job/career from those women, that'll teach those lewd men! By the same token we should ban women from walking to a car alone just in case there is a neanderthal man about who wolf whistles at her. Clearly women driving cars is the real problem here and it needs to stop for their own good.

And then in season we can have much more drama over mostly nothing again, but in that case it is racing. These topics just go to heart. It seems we F1 supporters (at least the ones reacting here) are all very sensitive, some try to dress it up (or should I say down) with a lot of, look at how bad ass I am, but you are right, everybody here (self included) is a drama queen.

decision is taken, deal over, on with racing again, the reason I watch F1.

This is precisely the mentality we are discussing in this thread. The let's close it down or ban it because I don't like it or it offends my closed mind seems to be the default position for some of you.

There is a fairly obvious remedy if you don't like this thread and that's to simply stop clicking on it and let those people who do want to discuss a subject do so without your input.
